You sound a bit sour. While I'm not saying those guys didn't have an impact on Lindholm Jonny hasn't replicated that season as the "guy" on his line either.
The fact is Lindholm is going to have the best forward he's ever played with next to EP and dman in Quinn along with the best pp group he's ever been a part of.

He doesn't need to be a line driver, he only needs to mesh with EP and aside from that, his biggest value to the nucks is going to be his defensive game, pk and FO.

He literally checks every box since our 3 biggest needs are a linemate for EP, a right shot centre, an elite FO guy and pker. On paper there wasn't a better fit out there.

Not sour lol, I’m happy for him. He’s the perfect 2C behind EP40. He’s a better center than winger. Playing with EP40 and Q Hughes will help him gain some value and either re-sign in the high 7’s/mid 8’s x 7/8 years.

My mistake, I miss read your post.
I'm excited the most for EP. This whole season despite putting up points he's been with two struggling wingers and you could tell that he was having to cover for Kuzmenko defensively who just couldn't play the system that Tochett wanted.
A lot of us nuck fans love Kuzmenko and I don't wanna say blamed EP but thought maybe EP was injured and as the play driver it was effecting his wingers. But as soon as EP was put with JT, EP went to an 11. So now him getting a guy like Lindholm, I think with the way EP can find a linemate and how Lindholm is at his best finding open space, were gonna see a lot of backdoor type goals.
With Mikheyev that's literally an elite shutdown line as well but if he continues to struggle I would love to see a swedish trio with Hoglander.
Insanely talented offensively and is like a dog on a bone and with two selke level centres, it mitigates the fact that Hogz is still learning to be a better 200 foot guy.

For Canucks fans the biggest worry was trading one of Lekkerimaki, Willander, Hoglander or Podkolzin. Most fans were ok with the first since it will be late and a combination of other players.

Bruz is a good prospect and worth acquiring in the deal for Calgary along with the first. Kuzmenko was also a good gamble as he will get better looks on a team who will not be challenging for the playoffs anytime soon with the teams in front of them.

Lindholm is the RHS Centre Vancouver has been missing since foundational Brandon Sutter and fits their needs perfectly.

Everyone came out a winner in this deal.

Weird argument..

But anyway outside of Jonathon Lekkerimaki and Tom Willander, Hunter Brzustewicz would have been my pick (and I suspect most Flames fans pick) to have "taken" from Vancouver.

A lot of speculation at the time was one of Raty or Pod would be coming back and the consensus on Flames boards was Brzustewicz would be the preferred guy over them at the time.

Hoglander nobody figured was available.
Agreed with this. It’s also likely that among those players, Brz was seen by Vancouver as the most available. Talk among the Vancouver board that selling Brz now made a lot of sense given he’s likely to have Hronek and Willander ahead of him for the foreseeable future. Good trade for both teams.

Podkolzin and Raty do nothing for the Flames. They wouldn’t even be top 3 forward prospects on the Flames

Conroy wanted Hoglander, he settled for Brz and Kuzmenko. Good enough for me

Markstrom has been stellar lately and raises his game the more chances he faces. High event could work out well. Lol
It's the perfect line for a rebuild. Will make the games fun to watch and help the draft pick be higher. Gotta limit that Backlund/Coleman line's ice time. They contribute way too much to wins.

I do kind of like Podkolzin. We just don't need anymore 3rd line wingers. Brz is the perfect type of prospect we needed. High ceiling guys are what we should be targeting. I hope we can get a center version of a similar prospect for Hanifin.

I guarantee you that if the Flames had held out for Podkolzin, Raty, Wilander, Lekkerimaki or young Swedish rearguard Elias Pettersson, Lindholm would still be in the Calgary lineup or somewhere else.

Hoglander isn't a prospect.

Multiple Canucks fans compared him to Ohlund. I have Brzustewicz way ahead of everyone except Lekkerimaki and Willander. His ceiling is probably higher than even those guys, just a lower floor.

How do you even have such a strong opinion on Canuck prospects? have u been following them all season?

You have Brustewics ahead of Bains?

Bains was just named an AHL-All Star and was the AHL All Star game MVP he is having a fantastic AHL sophmore season. His last year in the WHL , he might have been the best player in the entire CHL. 112 pts in 68 games.

I also wouldnt have Bruz ahead of Podkolzin. Podkolzin's development has staggered a bit but he is very much looking like the top 6-9 power forward we drafted as of late.

Silovs is a goalie so its hard to gauge their value but he has already been dominant at Worlds, and is approaching 100 AHL games, he is only 22.

Bruz is a great prospect. Boom or bust. He is a 2nd/3rd Tier Prospect depending on your pool. He is a " B"Prospect... nothing wrong with that.

Every non-Canuck fan who has posted here has seen it the same way. Your opinion is just silly. Bains has progressed nicely. He's also 23 playing in the AHL. Look at what Matt Phillips did at the same age. How's his NHL career gone? He had way better AHL numbers than Bains.

Why would you lsiten to non Canuck fans who have probably never seen a shitft of Abbotsford Canucks games over someone that regular goes to the game in person and follows the team??

I dont follow Mathew Philips so i dont know what his NHL career has amounted to but what does that have to do with Arshdeep Bains?

Bains is almost certainly going to be in the Canucks top 9 next year along with Podkolzin.

I get that you like Hunter because he is a magic bean that has a chance of being a home run, we liked him too but there is no way he is an "A" prospect" much like Lekky and Willander. Which is why i have him in the B prospect alongside the Bains, Podkolzin, Pettersson and Silovs. Hunter playing in the worst level of competition out all those prospects as well.

I miss Kuzy already. Shame he wasn’t able to adapt his game to fit Tocchet’s style, but he should get a better opportunity in Calgary. All the best to him and hopefully he earns himself another NHL contract after next season.

100% even with 40 million in cap we need Raty and Podz in the bottom six to free up money if we hope to keep Lindholm. They also seem to be quite underrrated and I suspect they will surprise.

To the oilers mod who took my like privilege away for simply correcting their biggest troll who spams nuck threads constantly, NOT COOL.
