Flames will feed him a tonne of ice time and have cap space. If they can squeeze out another asset it is just gravy. I was expecting a 1st and B prospectCan he though? Maybe if he rebounds later this year or next season. But at this point he was a $5.5M healthy scratch/often liability.
Oh yeah. That 1st was way higher. The value of Kuzmenko, Brzustewicz, and the Canucks 2024 1st today is probably similar to the value of the NYI 2023 1st alone, add Beauvillier (negative value) and Raty (roughly a 2nd) I think its about on par
It's good to have hope again it's been awhile.Chances are probably slim to none.
Canucks fans will plan the parade around this. I have no doubt about it, and I'm not here to stop it.Lol if he was first line play driver we wouldn't even be having this conversation. He was brought in to be our 2nd line C, a faceoff guy and a PK presence. The Canucks have their play drivers.
You're not going to get the angst out of most Canucks fans that you're looking for.
I hope the Oilers still somehow miss the playoffs but getting knocked out by the Canucks would be extra funnyThe little brother syndrome has been strong with them all season
Yes, he’s a potential rebound candidate similar to how Beauvillier was last season. But ultimately as far as the Canucks are concerned, he was a multi-year cap dump.Flames will feed him a tonne of ice time and have cap space. If they can squeeze out another asset it is just gravy. I was expecting a 1st and B prospect
One thing you can count on, Oilers always get knocked out in a funny fashionI hope the Oilers still somehow miss the playoffs but getting knocked out by the Canucks would be extra funny
Brzustewicz wasn't going to hit in Vancouver. He was pretty much drafted to be traded at some point since he would always be blocked from hitting his potential in Vancouver. The only question is if the Canucks should've waited to see if his value would increase after some marinating in the AHL. Flip side is that he struggles in the transition to pro hockey and you're stuck with a diminished asset. If Brzustewicz hits we lose this trade and we will never EVER hear the end of it.
This trade sucks. Linholm sucks
Agreed. This is a great return. I was satisfied with just Brzustewics and their 1st. This is a lot betterBrustewicz is IMO a high end prospect.

Winning that cup is like playing lotto 6 49. I know it isnt that statistically but sure feels like it.It's good to have hope again it's been awhile.
In your guys defence, you never had the assets to get himTrue. If at any point I wanted his overrated ass in Edmonton.
Fair trade all things considered. Kuzmenko is having an off year, a change of scenery could reignite his scoring and net the flames another late 1st or 2nd+
What? The quotes have nothing to do with Horvat. I think you need to reread the chain of quotes. You said Calgary is going to get a haul for Kuz after scoring with Huby… put down the pint.lol okay, typical forget all the context and just assume. All I said is this trade seems potentially better than Horvat haul. Raty is a 21 yo who can’t even perform in the AHL and Kuz has more value than a bust in Beau. Not sure why that makes me a homer.
Actually statistically speaking , that’s spot onWinning that cup is like playing lotto 6 49. I know it isnt that statistically but sure feels like it.
He waived for Calgary. Likely cause he can rack up points for a pay day without having to worry about silly little things like backchecking.Kuzmenko had Calgary on his NTC so I can't help but wonder did he waive to go to Calgary?
Or did he waive to go to Calgary with the understanding that he would be traded by the deadline or at least before next season.
