Should be fun in the West between this Vancouver team, the VGK, the Jets, and the Avs who you know are gonna be adding/upgrading eventually as well.

Definitely the top 4 contenders in the conference. Hopefully we get some 7 game wars come playoff time, I see all 4 of these teams matching up closely. Gonna come down to who’s hot/healthiest at the right time.

Bruzcewitz is like our 3rd or 4th best prospect so nice pickup by the flames.

we got the flames top center without giving up Hog, Lekk,, Wallinder and Podz.

Patrik Allvin needs a statue.
It's arguable that he's been the Flames best center for a bit.

I think they are going for it all in this year. If they win it then nothing else matters, if they don't I think the window is still open but I don't think we can afford Lindholm.
Don't see why not. Demo and Hughes on team-friendly deals and JT Miller is the only money guy signed beyond 2025. Elias and Hronek are gonna be a problem.

I will give the Canucks credit for making the deal now rather than give up a similar package a month from now at the deadline. Get 33 games out of Lindholm instead 17. Allows for more time for chemistry to form.

Decent return for Calgary… it’s going to be risky for Vancouver to extend Lindholm on a big long term contract.

People calling this a "haul" for CGY clearly don't follow the Canucks or their system. The only value CGY got here was the 1st. Which is projecting to be a very late 27-32 range pick. The rest are throw ins. This was the very definition of quantity over quality for CGY. But the optics they will spin from a PR stand point for people who don't know anything about the players. I think CGY could have done better and almost certainly would have if they'd waited.

I’m actually really surprised Tanev wasn’t involved… figured for sure he was VAN bound

Good trade for both teams. I wonder what the return for Tanev will be since it’s clear that this deal is also in progress

That’s pretty good return for the Flames, like many of us said Lindholm would return a good return.

Late 1st
couple decent prospects, not A level prospects but decent

Nucks clearly IMO Canada top team and one of the best in the NHL

What am I not getting?

Why do folks think Calgary got a haul?

Vancouver has practically been trying to give Kuzmenko away for good reason. A late 1st, a 4th, a meh prospect, and a recent 3rd rounder having a good season.
Because Lindholm has 9 goals this year and was walking at the end of the season. Kuzmenko is a pretty good bounce back candidate for them as well (see Sharangovich success)

Gonna be real interesting how this effects Noah Hanifin’s mindset. Does he now let the Flames know, he’ll be moving on, and they then put him back on the market?

If so, he can be gone over the weekend as well.

Kuzmenko is a wildcard but I enjoyed watching him a lot last year. Guess he didn't mesh with Tocchet but maybe he can get back to form with CGY? Solid deal for both.

Vancouver is gonna be tough to beat this spring.

Adding Lindholm the premiere 2C this year also weakens the Avs choices to replace Kadri on their second line. I suppose TB is also looking for a 2C?
