Hard to figure out what the long term plan is at this point. Like very hard.

It's really starting to look like Masai and Webster actually believe this team, as currently constructed, can win and the poor results have been due to bad luck.

I strongly disagree, but based on what's been reported, their valuation of many of the players on this roster isn't in the same stratosphere as the rest of the NBA.

Now Thybulle is going to Portland so that likely pulls them out of the OG talks. Seems like most teams have moved on to their other plans instead of trying to negotiate with Toronto – and "insiders" have started talking about how other teams have gotten very frustrated dealing with the Raps front office.

The Pelicans absolutely have to make a move and OG is the only option that moves the needle for them.

Orlando with Fred, too.

Hopefully we see some movement there, because we can’t possibly sign all of Gary, Fred, and Poetl

Orlando can sign FVV for free in the summer. They don't need to make a trade now, or do a sign and trade in summer, and as far as I can tell, Van Vleet cares more about getting paid than going to a premier market like Miami/LA. He'll walk right out the door and straight to Disney Land.

The Nets have multiple 3 and D wings that they can now move, and have shifted into rebuild/seller mode, so if the Raps didn't feel they were getting offered "value" before (and the rumours are that they got offered some pretty big packages), I don't see how they get more in the next 2 hours. Nets are apparently taking calls on Bridges, who's better than OG. 3 rumored suitors are also likely out: Phoenix for sure and probably NYK and Portland.

Denver would love him, but they can't meet the demands Masai has.

And the Pelicans' timeline isn't this season or bust. Memphis probably has more pressure on them, but they're also not going to break the bank for OG.

Trent Jr has minimal value. A late 1st or a couple 2nds.

There is no way GTJ is only worth a couple 2nds.

And Bridges being better than OG is debatable, it’s close.

Could be a smokescreen. If Masai isn’t getting his asking price, he might be playing poker.

The rest of the league is tired of the Raptors front-office.

They've moved on to their plan B's and are perfectly happy to watch Masai and Bobby put a 40-45 win team on the floor and value it as if its the Bird era Celtics.

If they do not nothing then it's a tragedy, FVV, OG and GTJ all need to go hell even Siakam if you can find a taker

Watching VV and Trent walk for nothing is a borderline fireable offence for Bobby. Watch Masai and him come out and talk about organic growth, we believe in this team, f*** Brooklyn, bla bla… just a joke of deadline.

Only way it makes sense to stand pat is if you sign and trade these players in the offseason. If not, huge mismanagement of resources from the Thad and Poeltl trade to the lack of recouping picks. I still have some faith there is a larger plan if they do not make moves.. it will just be very hard to explain it to the fan base that you are 4 games below .500 and are a buyer to hopefully make a play-in game or play Philly...

Not borderline, 100% a a fireable offence. Especially if it’s both of them walking

Rebuilding in any sport is not a guarantee. This team just disappoints again. Although I suppose there is still time left.

What the f*** is wrong with this team? Just keep sending out those firsts y’all. Outstanding. /s
Until the trade deadline passes, it is too early to pass judgement on moving out a 1st. If this is the only move they make - which would be surprising and disappointing - then it's fair to be critical. The hope is they make one or two more moves and recoup draft picks and / or young impact players.
Woj just said Raptors probably standing pat. This is really hard to understand.
The Raps front office is notoriously "leak proof", so I hope the stand pat remark reflects a lack of trade talk leaking out, vs a decision to stand pat - which the whole fan base would see as unacceptable. Can they really think a rallying cry of "let's try to capture 8th place" is going to resonate?

Bones Hyland to Clippers, probably out on FVV. Two 2nd rounders. Raps can't be in on that but give up a lightly protected 1st for Poetl?

Magic trade Bamba for Beverley. There goes your last FVV suitor.

Can't understand the approach.

Not willing to retool with younger players. So some might say, "Masai will keep a mediocre roster but wait for the next star to pair with Siakam." Except that Kevin Durant was available twice in the last 6 months, and Masai wasn't willing to pay the price.

If the plan was to keep the "core", Barnes shouldn't have been off the table for Durant.
