Shortening your bench is the playoffs is expected, having no bench less than halfway through a season is insane. There is no excuse for not giving minutes to Watanabe/Svi on top of Boucher and Precious. Nurse is a bit of a clown
I like Nurse lots, but I don’t really understand what Svi did to fall out of the rotation.

its what he hasnt done, and the answer is anything lol, and hes gotten way more run than any other of those guys off the bench(yuta should get the same rope as svi has already had this year). im more confused about about banton and flynn given how worn out FVV is already. banton especially has actually had some decent games recently and has torn up the 905, and nurse even said at one point this year "you guys(the media) should be asking why im not playing banton more"

FVV's legs are literally falling off. he came off rest for knee soreness and immediately played 54 and 39 mins, and i bet he plays 40 again today.

if they arent gonna play any backup guards, at least let scottie run the point and see what he can provide and give FVV a bit of rest, his shot has been terrible in the last 10 games outside of catch and shoot 3s

edit: even champagnie has been decent out side of his crazy 4 fouls in like a minute game he had lol. and he hasnt played barely either.

His shooting percentages outside of October are 38/29/83, and have gotten worse each month that he plays. The only reason he was in the rotation until now was Nurse doesn’t have anyone else.
Ouch, that would do it, ya.

Be interesting to see what the trade deadline brings... Reports indicate Dragic likely gets traded.
lol i mean he was always going to be traded, we got him to trade him. him along with a FRP hopefully can bring back something good.
we need an inside presence in the worst way, somebody who can deter teams from just going directly to the basket with impunity.

i would love somebody like nurkic on this team.

Yes the intention was to always trade him, I am sure the Raptors had hoped he would play his value up rather than sit out and simply become a salary matching chip. His only value for the most part lies in the fact, he can help bring back a player in the 20 mil. range if we attach draft compensation.

bogdonovic would be another guy i would really like, we need a knock down shooter off the bench.

They said at the end of the broadcast that these Raptors are for real and you know what - they're right!

Great win, love this team!

The Raps are f***ing back baby.

I know most of y'all got the Leafs to cheer for but the Jets are trash so I gotta live through the Raps for the rest of the year lol.

Now if we could get a bench piece or 2 before the deadline that would be tight.

My guess is that we're not really thinking about this TDL so much because going a big further this spring isn't very important. We're making the playoffs anyway and we're playing the long game, the goal is to win another title and we're thinking about what best positions us toward that end. So maybe improve the team for the playoffs, but only if it improves us in the long run as well.

Damn this team is fun to watch though eh? I believe they said on the broadcast that last night was the first time this season that they had everyone available. Not a lot of depth but that starting 5 is impressive!

So much fun to watch, incredibly hungry defensively, so many second chance points.

I think we trade Dragic + a 1st for something. I'm not sure what but I think Nurse/Masai want to use this as a year to get experience in the playoffs.

Barnes is just incredible for a rookie. Sends us to OT against Miami, sends us to OT last night. Scores the go ahead bucket in OT last night. All of this after being labelled not a scorer in college. Believe in Masai!

Not sure about trading a 1st for playoff experience because we're going to get some playoff experience anyway, we'll see.

Barnes is worth the price of admission all on his own. His improvement alone could make us a substantially better team say two years from now. :)
