The raptors won their championship I am ready for the rebuild. No need for another treadmill decade.
With FVV, Suggs, Siakam, OG core it could be a quick rebuild. Some decent bench players in Trent Jr. and boucher. Their going to need a legit C and a better shooting guard (easier said then done) but if they can fill those 2 roles they should be competing sooner then later.

Sexton for Simmons is gonna happen this summer. Book it
That's not horrible. I could honestly see that. Keep Garland as PG and Ben in the Point forward spot who can also guard any perimeter player.

Sexton as a creator for Joel who can actually shoot. Makes sense

I dont see how we could turn down this once in a decade chance to grab a high upside prospect like we have at #4 this year, I dont know if I would even do the hypothetical #4 for #5 and #8 rumour because the talent drop off is just too much. Take whoever falls and plug them into our development system with the team structure the other top 4 teams currently lack and see what we can do!
I know there is a gap between 4 and 5 but If it is 5 and 8 for the 4th pick I would seriously think about it.

I love Suggs and Green but to drop 1 spot and get the 8th overall pick as well in a deep draft is something to think about.

Green/Suggs vs Kuminga and Keon Johnson. Johnson did just set the record for 48 inch vertical at the combine and is a defensive beast. Lots of potential. Would be a hard thing to think about.

But if it was me, I try and find a a way to get both and trade something to get another lottery pick and pick up Josh Giddey. Guy could be a stud.

Yep and then Cavs rock:

Garland
Green
Okoro
Simmons
Allen

Makes sense both ways.

Agree with keeping the pick.
If Suggs, FVV plays 2.
If Green, FVV plays 1.
If Mobley, giddy up.

It’s a plug and play core, any of the three will have a great chance to play big minutes right away.

And then the max+ cap space?

Anyone know how much cap will be available?

Also just draft with 4. We are fortunate to move up and could use the elite prospect. Unless you get a mindblowing offer, I wouldn't think about it.

I think 5 and 8 is likely a mind-blowing offer.

There will likely be 2 very good players available at those picks. Now actually identifying those guys out of the 10 or so guys mocked in that range is going to be more difficult than picking one of the top 4. Each of which is an easy player to project as a potential star. The value of that offer is - historically speaking - huge.

Obviously, it's up to the scouting staff to say if this particular draft mimics previous drafts, and have a strong opinion on projected stars in that particular draft range.

From my two hour long youtube session watching different scouting reports, I want:
1. Green
2. Mobley
3. Suggs

Green has the highest upside imo, electric scoring and the ability to create his own shot that we lack.

Mobley is an athletic modern centre who can switch, he fits our positional need, and if he can develop his outside shot, could be incredible.

Suggs would be a good Lowry replacement, but I don't see the same upside as the other two - poor shooting is very concerning for a guard. I like his defense and playmaking.

I really know very little, though, and will be happy with whoever's there at 4.

Somehow getting Mobley would be huge. I hope thats the goal.

Agreed on Josh Giddey. The guy has the highest ceiling offensively imo outside of the top 5.

If Colangelo was still GM I'd be worried. But Masai and co have proven they only think long term and so I doubt the pick is moved unless its for a great return

I'm thinking along the same lines (although Colangelo was pretty good too).

Trust in Masai. He (and his team) have barely made any mistakes so far - way fewer than any other GM. Drafting is always a bit of a crap shoot, but they're good.

Anyone read the rumour on the athletic that the Warriors will try to use 7th + Wiseman for a win now player and Pascal Siakam is the guy they might target?

Im a big Pascal supporter but if we, which seems likely move on from Lowry... Wiseman, the 4th and 7th picks with FVV, OG and potentially Trent Jr. Is a great start and with the right moves could still be an East Playoff team.

I don't think this team is a Lillard away from being serious championship contenders again. Just keep the fourth pick, sign and trade Lowry and go after a big. Whoever we get at 4 should be a help from the start and could have a Lillard type impact soon enough.

I'd do it. Would hate to see Siakam go but this team should be in rebuild mode. Between #4, #7, Trent, FVV, OG, you should be back in the playoffs in short order and ready to contend again quickly if you draft well.

It would mean at least 1 more year of tanking. It would also mean taking on Andrew Wiggins' contract.

If that rumour is true then Masai has to do that trade right? Wiseman helps at a position of need and Masai was watching Kumingas workout and I heard he likes Barnes and Johnson. So he could walk out of the draft with Suggs/Green and 1 of Kumingas/Barnes/Johnson. Hell, maybe he could even move back and get the 18th 23rd and 24th pick if they think the draft is that deep. Having 5 picks in a deep draft wouldn't be too bad too.

Oh I would do that. Love Pascal but another top 7 pick along with a young player who fits a need with elite upside is a good haul.

Siakam for Wiseman + Wiggins (Salary dump) + 7th overall + 14th Overall (I would include a second going their way if it helps them move the extra pick, hell both) to give us Picks #4/7/14 on top of Flynn, OG, Trent Jr, VanVleet with plenty of picks to add a guard, wing and big.

i think im switching over to the mobley camp, he could be special with the way the raptors develop young players. and for me hes what we need the most, u can always re-sign lowry for another 2 seasons or trade siakam for another lotto pick. OG is young enough to be part of the next core so getting another lottery pick would be fantastic. i dont think adding suggs and subracting lowry makes this team any sort of threat to win another chip with the state of our bigs and lack of a true number 1 scoring option. better to tear it down a bit more and focus a much larger window of contention...my 2 cents at least

Unfortunately we have little say in the matter, I am sure we would be just as happy to draft Mobley as we would Green or Suggs. Its just a matter of who the unpicked player is of the big 4.
