I lot of current team names sound really dumb except we are used to them. I imagine whatever name they land on will sound dumb until it no longer does.

I thought i head somewhere on NHL radio, that they might not have a name picked by next season. So this would make sense if that is the case.

Yep. Their upcoming 2024-2025 season was always going to use a generic UTAH as a placeholder while their agency of record comes up with branding/colors/jersey designs. The NHL and new owners have stated from the beginning that 2025-2026 season will have the team’s new official name.
As a new team/franchise, you wouldn’t want to rush these things if you don’t have to.

Anything online that's is negative about the names suggested is generally followed by either: 1. No suggestions of better names or 2. Names that are basically no different than what's already been proposed

Personally, I like Utah Swarm. Call the arena the Hive and the AHL team the Hornets…But, based on the proposed logo colors of; ice blue, white and black…. it’ll likely be Yeti or Mammoths…2 things no one thinks about when they think about Utah
Maybe go with Road Runners… since in the end, the Road Runner beat the Coyote…plus if..IF..Arizona brings back the Coyotes, it’s built in rivalry and marketing for games… play the cartoon on the scoreboard before the game and the theme song at home games

It is pretty bush league, but its not like its just the NHL. The NFL had the Washington Football Team
