Well yeti appears to be in the lead in every poll done online, so I would say they are in massesI refuse to believe people are voting for the worst names.

Do we even know if Yeti skeletons have been found there?Do we even know if Mammoth skeletons have been found on Utah soil?
Outlaws and HC are the only non-corny sounding ones. The rest all sound like semi-pro arena football team names. So many non-plurals lol the owner or people he listens to must think the non-plural thing is so cool and unique and hip. Hint: it isn’t
They DID say they were going to parallel Jazz colors.
Fugly. Anything but "Utah Hockey Club".
Everybody…THIS IS TEMPORARY.Fugly. Anything but "Utah Hockey Club".
This isn't ****in soccer.
Even temporarily it's a joke.Everybody…THIS IS TEMPORARY.
It’s amateur hour all around like an ECHL/EANHL franchise mode team. At least Vegas was deliberate and knew what they wanted. 99.99% of the hockey community would kill to be a billionaire franchise owner and their branding would be the first thing they decide on overnightIf they do power blue and black as it appears that temp logo (assuming it’s real) shows, they could just steal the old Winnipeg Ice logo if they go with “Yeti”
That said, I think powder blue and black is a solid color combo that could make for a look that we don’t currently have in the NHL (outside the Pens retro powder blue?)…and it ties into the Jazz without being direct copy so it seems realistic.
Everybody…THIS IS TEMPORARY.
Saving post for laterBanff is the place we advertise for the tourists. We keep Kananaskis (much better) to ourselves.
So you want them to have a temporary name & a temporary fleshed out logo, just to do it all over again in a year? That wouldn't make sense with how trademarks and branding work. This stuff takes time doesn't it? Utah HC is fine for a year. "Hockey Club" has always been in the sport's lexicon so just lol @ anyone making the soccer comments.Even temporarily it's a joke.
At least find a name for the team if you can't figure out a logo for some reason.
It’s boring. Didn’t say otherwise. I said it isn’t corny. The Utah Hockey Club
Wow
I agree. It’s better to go with a place holder since they’re in a time crunch to get operations started up and icing a team in 4 months. It’d be an ill advised move to rush into a brand/name that most certainly everyone will not like anyway.Everybody…THIS IS TEMPORARY.
We have enough video evidence to confirm Yeti's exist though. Can't say the same thing about Mammoths.Do we even know if Yeti skeletons have been found there?
Look at the big brains on marketing here gentlemen...It’s amateur hour all around like an ECHL/EANHL franchise mode team. At least Vegas was deliberate and knew what they wanted. 99.99% of the hockey community would kill to be a billionaire franchise owner and their branding would be the first thing they decide on overnight
And the selections are just pure Utah. Bland and pandering
Take some mushrooms and go to Moab. Figure it out
I'm sorry but Outlaws and Venom are as corny as it gets.Outlaws and HC are the only non-corny sounding ones. The rest all sound like semi-pro arena football team names. How is Outlaws any different than Raiders, Warriors, Cowboys, Bandits, Buccaneers, Golden Knights, Braves, Pirates, Rangers, Patriots, Vikings, Guardians (), Commanders (), Senators?I'm sorry but Outlaws and Venom are as corny as it gets.
You've got a point but I personally don't like most of these other names either lol.How is Outlaws any different than Raiders, Warriors, Cowboys, Bandits, Buccaneers, Golden Knights, Braves, Pirates, Rangers, Patriots, Vikings, Guardians (), Commanders (), Senators?
Outlaws were an actual historical figure/archtype of the American Frontier/Old West, of which Utah was a major part. The name actually has some historical significance, unlike many of the other franchises I named above.
