I would take Gnome or KDE any day over Windows f***ing 11 lol.
All the images i'm seeing of the interface look completely different from one another, i.e. customization I assume. The little experience I had with a Linux distrib (don't recall which) back at uni was that it was quite confusing for someone not well versed.

I don't see what's so bad about W11's interface considering you can make it look like W10. And they're revamping the file explorer, at last.

There's myriad desktop environments which all look somewhat different. Some distros ship with one, some ship with many. In theory you could compile any you wanted, if you felt like it.

I've used gnome forever. I use a mac for a laptop and two are somewhat similar. A lot of people hate gnome because it's less customizable, but KDE is probably the big daddy for most folks.

And yeah, windows 11 changed a bunch of shit for no reason. It's also littered with ads.

Saying "well you can make it look like windows 10" is pretty damning IMHO.

At the risk of sounding like a born-again lunatic, I feel like Windows has been going in the wrong direction for a long time. I used it growing up and really up until I started working at my current company. Linux obviously has advantages in software development - especially working with containers like I do all day - but it really has gotten good over the last 10 years.

Aside from Nvidia support. That's trash pretty much everywhere except on Ubuntu-based distros. I dunno why. I had to ditch my RTX after a couple months.

Windows 11 is shit just because of the stupid right click menu.

Every other issue is just icing on the shit cake.

At least they finally gave the option to never combine taskbar buttons.

I don't understand how people use that combining-buttons and no-labels taskbar, it's so clunky and needlessly complicated.

People will have a billion things on their desktop, but god damn it, they need that taskbar to be clean and organized at the cost of it being much harder to quickly navigate between open programs.

It's a thing they ripped off from MacOS, right?

Gotta make Windows easier for grandma to use, but f*** those people who do work on their computers.

You want to edit a batch file? Now it takes three clicks instead of two, f*** you.

Windows needs to just make a delineation between experienced users and non-experienced users and offer them different UX.

Stop with the half-assed shit that results in stupidity, such as having both a Control Panel and a Settings Menu.

Went phone shopping yesterday and these phones are on a 24 month plan

Just inundated with popups and they aren't even ad related
