He kinda is though, his plan for the story is way different to when it started.

It wasn't like how JKR came up with the whole idea and story of Harry Potter on a train

Gurm's original idea centred around the initial plotline of Bran falling from the tower and was meant to just be like a short story sort of thing, and it just grew from there
