Also, Night King very easily takes a dragon down with one ice-javelin throw. Never even tries that move again.

My fan theory is that they gave the dragons names so everyone can tell who the f***ing nerds are.

I can barely remember the names of the human characters, yet alone some CGI dragons

Ulitmately though that whole sequence of events from the dumbass plan to kidnap a zombie to that moment was just a plot device to give the Night King a way to get through the wall

I'm not sure what I would have done better to achieve that, but my season 8 would have included losing the battle of Winterfell with many named characters dying, then retreating to King's Landing and Cersei having no choice but to join forced with them. Cersei then somehow dies, maybe being murdered by Jaime after trying to double-cross the Dany/Jon alliance. They defeat the NK and then they try to decide who gets the throne and Jon's parents being Lyanna and Rhaegar is actually important and then we can properly do the whole Dany obviously wanting to be Queen but Sansa and Arya throwing shade along with Varys wanting Jon to be King. Then if you want to do mad Dany you can have her try to execute the Stark girls or some shit to make Jon turn on her. If you want Bran to be King at the end make him actually do something useful in the defeat of the NK.

They're actually really easy to remember. Drogon is obviously named after Khal Drogo and the other two are named after her brothers, though admittedly it's harder to remember which one is killed by the NK or Euron
