Lost in the Flood
Lots of questions about the USA roster but I dont get the Kessel stuff. Is it not confirmed he was injured and not available?
was he injured months ago when the initial rosters were announced?

Whoa, this is a legit upset.
I can't help but think USA Hockey hired Tortorella because they can't let go of the idea of Herb Brooks.
Well I guess that answers the "do they care" question for Europe.
That was a game played according to Kruger's rules.
The other coaches play chess. He plays Go.
His teams will most of the times have less shots than the adversary ... yet most of the shot of the opponent will not be dangerous.
Chess is about making as many checks as possible. (shots on goals)
Go is about occupying the territory actively or passively. (strategic place occupied)
While I don't necessarily revel at the US failing I can totally understand and relate to the anger from many Americans at their management team. We don't pick the best team we can either. We play Boumeester and Pietrangelo etc. I feel your pain bros the Euros might take us down too.
Well done, team USA showed great heart, only being defeated by 3-0 against rags-tags from countries where people dont even know this tournament
Gotta feel good.
lol.
It's not even remotely the same. And that an absurd comment to say, oh they choose J Bo and Pietrangelo, boo hoo they didn't pick the best team.
Halak, Draisaitl, Gaborik, Kopitor, Chara, and Hossa are all world class athletes. Team Europe certainly were the underdogs, but they're far from a rag tag group of misfits. There's a lot of experience and skill there.
Team USA was missing sbisa

Is anyone actually surprised this team isn't good? Questionable decision making from top to bottom throughout USA hockey.
Same with the WJC's this year. Specifically took top 6 players and bottom 6 players instead of the best players and have them fill different roles.
