Logan Stanley has been hot garbage this entire series (and far below average last series). Any coach that won't replace Stanley for Heinola at this point has no business coaching Minor Midget AA, nevermind the NHL.

Honestly though it's becoming completely apparent that Maurice only thinks "well if Hellebuyck bails me out that's how I coach, also let's screw over Connor in the media since he can take it".

Everyone still happy with mediocre 2nd line C Dubois for gamebreaker Laine? Hope you all feel great about that since I was apparently a moron for hating that trade.

I can't believe that this garbage management team is still being given a chance. They need to fire basically every staff member from Chevy on down. The organization needs a new vision, needs a plan, one that includes understanding how to scout pro players, how to value players, how to understand the difference between loyalty and blind loyalty. Problem is beating perhaps the only worse management team in the NHL in Edmonton has probably left us with 5 more years of this garbage management.

Stanley. Forbert. Poolman. They are a problem. I hope there is more coming in the Jets system for D. Forbert is just hard to watch sometimes.

Possibly the most boring crap game of playoff hockey I've watched. Bleh. Glad I went golfing and watched on pvr!

I'm struggling to see how we win 4 after watching that. It's not like Price stood on his head. Habs had the edge in high-danger chances. How many decent odd man rushes did they have? Half a dozen? I think we had one; Connor on a two-on-one where he never even shot it.

Connor for that matter, our leading scorer in the regular season, didn't even have a shot on net until late in the third.

No net drive. Losing board battles. Soft passes to no one. Zero transition game because there is no chemistry. Behind in the game and series but still looking for the pretty play. Stanley handling the puck like a grenade. Forbort shooting more than our forwards.

Jets are in big trouble here and not sure how they can win this down 3 key pieces and the rest apparently rattled.

Montreal played a perfect away game... The Jets tried but Montreal has a big defence and the forwards are all 2-way players... I don't think the Jets were that bad, Montreal just made it look that way.

Montreal third defence pair barely plays, so the key to the Jets success is to really, and I mean really hit Weber, Chiarot, Petry and Edmunson. They are all playing above 25 minutes... How long can they keep this up?

The only way to beat Price is with a deflection, which won't happen if no one is standing in front of him for more then 3 seconds

We had one good player last night - Helly. Can't blame the goalie for a 1-0 loss. Connor blew the coverage on Tiny Eyes Toffoli. (credit to Sip for that name) ;)

And the Jets didn't have any decent scoring chances until the last few minutes. They looked disinterested most of the night - very disappointing effort.

Fans casting some magic to make play faster?

I think the more logical explanation is they are just significantly better than all of the Canadian teams.
We get it - you have no use for the Canadian teams. I watched parts of a number of regular-season games from the U.S. where they had a scattering of fans - it was about as exciting as watching paint dry...

It's not "magic" - there's no question that players feed off the fans/atmosphere - and there has been no comparison to the intensity between the playoff games up here and in the united states - and not just because some of their teams are "better".

The lack of fans isn't why the Jets lost the last two games - they lost because they sucked. But to suggest that games are just as intense with almost no fans in the building ... not based on my observations.

If Laine actually played like a game breaker consistently I would agree with you. Neither player has been very good since the trade. If Columbus gets the Laine of 2017/18 they are money, if Jets get the Dubois of last years playoffs, they get the better player.
I agree about Stanley to a degree. He has regressed this series. seems to be taking risks that he didn’t earlier, just not playing as smart as he did in the regular season.

Anyone watch that Vegas AVS game? Hoo Lee f*** what a game, that had everything, 3rd period was insane. Whoever stumbles through this series is going to meet a brick wall. . .
I still would very much like to be the Canadian champs but ya. Those teams are another level. Canada’s teams are futile in ever winning a cup again! Thanks Bettman for F’in up the NHL.

My observations:
Connor needs a set-up man.
PLD looks like his body is betraying him. The brain wants to do certain things, but can't.
Wheeler had some jump in the third, otherwise invisible.
Ehlers Copp Ves had zero chemistry
Perreault was a ball of chaos, good and ... not-so-good. Lowry &Apples were, uh, present.
4th line = blah
JoMo misses Demelo, a LOT.
Benn handles the puck like a grenade.
Stan is exposed against heady players.
Helle is good. I like him.
Cannot disagree with any of that! Well done sir.

What is the main difference of a solid C vs. A top 10 C like Scheifele?

He is like a Buff now, he makes anybody on his line better offensively.
Unless the other 2 can show they can do something in the playoff without #55

One is better than the other -

Same answer as to your prior post - the better the C, the better the line.
And you can expect a drop off in play from the linemates if you lose the center.
Centers are the the key cog on any good line - especially if they are top ten (as you noted).
Nothing earth shattering in that conclusion -

Not happy about how we are playing right now but no number 1 center, no number 2 center , and not having our number 2/3 defenseman really hurts. If Stastny is back next game that puts Copp back with Lowry and Appleton. Not giving up on this team until we lose 4 games in this series. DeMelo missing gives us only 2 good defenseman and that is very tough to play with, at least with DeMelo we have 2 decent pairings instead of none. We win the next game and it's a brand new series.

Watching the American teams play, there is not much of a chance winning any of those games.

Who scouted Dubois? That trade is going to go down in top ten worse trades in Jets history.

This game reminded me a lot of the last game in the St Louis series.
If I remember correctly, they just completely gave up.
This one wasn’t quite as bad but pretty close.

Lets win the Montreal series first and then worry about who's next. Laine was absolute garbage this year with Columbus, even if Dubois isn't hurt, which he definitely is, we are still ahead of the game with that trade, Dubois is a center.
