They can’t find the front of the net with a road map and the odd time they do, the D couldn’t get a shot through if the puck was laser guided.

Its fascinating to me (well, more like aggravating tbh), is how so much of this teams game plan is to go low to high and have shots come from the point, yet they rarely have any kind of significant traffic in front of the net. It’s baffling.
or.. the ideal point men for it

I really want to like PLD, but we'd be better with Laine IMHO...

Defensive game good.
Offensive game just above James Wright level.
agree. i quite like his defensive game.

i hope by next year he's a much better fit up front cuz he didnt mesh with anyone this year outside of a couple games. injury could be a factor i guess but some of it looks like it's between the ears.

Wasn’t very impressed with our compete level. Not sure that was even the best line up that could have been iced. We allowed one goal...impressive but we really didn’t dominate in any way that carries through the rest of the series.
I’m not disappointed with PLD he’s another Lowry. It’s Connor and Ehlers who’s play is more regular season then playoff intense. It’s PMo who isn’t pushing the shoot from anywhere philosophy and leading from the bench. Timely time outs. Spot a weakness in a Mtl player and counter to our advantage. No spark nothing motivational in a very tight game/series.

I’m not sure about the compete level. Initially I thought they seemed to lack energy but in hindsight I think agree with @surixon , they were just playing ultra conservative and the dull style of the game made it appear as if they weren’t working.

I agree -
I'd also add that line juggling will cause a lot of hesitation - lots of broken plays and poor decisions that might be based on guys not knowing their line mates.
Hopefully Paul is back - he will help in calming things down and will get PLD off the 1st line (hopefully).
I thought PLD as looks OK with Ehlers - mainly because Ehlers really doesn't need his offense.

Lowry hits and hits hard. Is great defensively and carries a like by himself. Pld is no Lowry

I’m pretty sure they were on the powerplay

Ya my bad. Point still stands tho about Shea Weber on a breakaway though. The guy has cement in his skates and is a d man who has never been known for his rushing skills. And that is just one of the many odd man rushes and break aways the Jets have allowed.

Its sad and pathetic really that this is the effort they bring in the second round of the Stanley Cup playoffs vs what was supposed to be a lesser opponent on home ice.

I agree with you. I was so hyped over this team from the oilers series and have crashed back down to earth.

We had a rusty start in Game 1 and a lot of adjusting to do in Game 2, and they were still one-goal games. Montreal's offence is playing to their very modest potential; ours is not. I'm not convinced the Jets are out of this by any means. They need to come out flying and get the first goal, though.

Jets have the Habs right where they want them, after Montreal’s 4th win Mo should have a game plan all figured out!:sarcasm:

After having some time to reflect I still think we are in an ok position to right this ship.
Habs have won 5 in a row and it's hard to keep winning streaks going that long.

The Jets have been much better on the road then they have been at home.
If we can get Stastny back and pull out game 3 then I really like our chances in game 4.
The Habs only playing 4 D is not going to work in back to backs.
Hellebuyck is dialed right in.

If the Jets can push this series deep then we can get Scheif and possibly DeMelo back.

Until we lose that 3rd game we are not as bad off as we feel.
These next 2 games are when the grind of the Habs season comes home to roost.
I'm back to pre-Game 1 vs the Oilers... what the f$@#... we have nothing to lose.
Let's go!!!
