Wow…ok then. Hopefully the others can step up and pull this one out.Phelan got hurt on a hit to the head, Gilmour couldn’t put any weight on his leg and had to be helped off. McCormick left but came back .

Maybe the best win of the season given the circumstances.
I definitely think Phelan got his bell rung. Whether it was a direct hit to the head or his head hit the glass as a result of a hard body check, I don’t know.
The SMU twitter posted that they went back to look at the video and it was a clean check/didn’t deserve a game misconduct. They have since deleted that tweet from the looks of it.
I have a feeling Gilmour’s injury is serious given his reaction…he knew right away that something was wrong when he tried to get up and quickly went back down, throwing his gloves on the ice. Looked to be an ankle or knee…just hope nothing is broken or torn.
Talked to Phelan after the game. Surprisingly he said he thought the hit should not have been a major.Probably someone from the Athletics Department saw it and told whoever runs the account to not post commentary like that.
Brutal…that possibility did cross my mind but I was trying to be optimistic…that’s about the worst possible outcome.Broken fibula.

It came from a completely innocuous play. Just a freak accident.
Edit: I just watched the archives. Theede hit on Phelan looked clean. Gilmour leg buckled awkwardly while tied up with another player
I’m not holding my breath. When Ben Shutron broke his fibula in 2010/11 it came in early September and he only returned for the playoffs…and if I remember that was considered an exceptionally quick recovery. The Gilmour incident happened right in front of me. I could see he was hurt. Hopefully he recovers in time for March.
I thought Shutron broke his femur (upper)? I would expect him back for Nationals, if UNB qualifies?I’m not holding my breath. Yes, I believe you are right…Shutron broke his femur.I thought Shutron broke his femur (upper)? I would expect him back for Nationals, if UNB qualifies?
If it's only the fibula, I would expect him back, but if it's the Tibia (lower) also?? He will be done.
Looks like St. FX has dressed 20 skaters so far…but that doesn’t include Ethan Crossman, who hasn’t played yet.AUS
Due to the Covid-19,2 lost seasons, every team in the conference has had a huge turnover in players.
With UNB, for example, I think they still had about 6 players from the 2019 Championship team.
Defense has been outstanding, I didn't expect them to run the table like this..........
If X brings in a solid recruit or two, it may level the playing field?

This will not change the suspension.
I’m not even going to view this from a UNB only perspective . Acadia is the perfect example of how stupid the roster cap is. I pray to god this changes eventuallySounds like a very short bench for this weekend. According to MacDougall…Boland/Outhouse definitely out, Phelan most likely out, Carroll may be out, Gagne with one game left to serve on his suspension.
Gilmour had surgery Monday to repair a fractured ankle and is obviously out long term.
