Wasn’t able to make the game tonight and haven’t had a chance yet to check the replay…was the no-goal a controversial call?
Hard to tell on the netcam. Mike and Dave thought it was not a goal.

It really doesn't matter either way as there is no video replay, which is too bad.

For the 2nd game in a row, the refs were not the greatest. Several missed calls, some weak calls.

I was in the first row behind the SMU net for the questionable non goal, I’m 98% sure that puck did not cross the line . Also regarding the officiating I think tonight at least it was bad both ways, I don’t think either team really got shafted by the officials.

I didn't mean to imply that one team got bad calls.

In case anyone didn't see this. CBC story includes quotes from TMac.

Former UNB Reds player at centre of U.K. hockey death from skate slash

'An awful situation for everybody involved': Matt Petgrave's former teammate says his friend not an enforcer

I've followed this since it happened and have seen the video several times. I honestly can't decide what to make of it.

I saw a similar incident at the Sportsplex in 1985 when a Jr A player got his neck cut by a skate. If not for the quick action of the trainor, he would have died. You could have heard a pin drop in the rink when that happened. Very sobering moment, for sure.

Any update on McGinley?

What are everyone’s thoughts on potential mid-season additions? They have (I think) four open spots, but I really, really like the lineup right now. I guess the only concern would be injuries as they don’t have a lot of depth so an extra body or two would be nice, but not sure you are bringing in depth guys at Christmas, it’s usually impact guys so that means some of the current guys might get pushed down the lineup.

My guess is a repeat of last year, McCallum , Sproule, Blagden . A forward , a D-man and a depth guy.

I’m curious what happens when McGinley is healthy because Nolet has been pretty solid and the other 5 guys are basically locks to dress.

Kind of hard to believe this is their best start to a season since 2009/10.
So what was the best regular season finish for the REDS? Anyone know right off hand?

I have heard McGinley will be back after Christmas. Will not rush him with break early in December.

I would think the year they were 26-0 and lost game 27 at SFX and beat DAL (I think) for the 27-1 record.

I'm sure someone has the exact answer.
