Your the one who seems to care

you’re the one who seems to feel the need to try to spin it as some great move by getting upset that the poster said we signed him instead of getting some middling picks to take him

and if I had multiple accounts my mod friends would be all over me , lol
Lol dude. I'm just calling out a poster for being factually incorrect. That's it. Murray was traded for. Not signed. Not spinning it to make it good.

Everyone keeps bringing up injury history, someone please correct me, but isn't this injury unrelated to past ones?

So wouldn't anyone complaining about that just be clueless?
Yeah. He's the Lupul of the goalie world. It's always a shock when it's a new injury. How could it be? Hard to say.

Is this injury related to past ones? Honestly curious, I thought it was mostly concussion-related.

It just seems silly to compare this to his other injuries.

For sure. What we do know is that he's always injured. Like Lupul was. Different injuries all the time, but never ever a shock when you learn he's injured again.

Fair, I know last year was part covid and it sounded like Ottawa mismanaged him coming back, but a groin injury is not the norm for him, I can understand people being upset if it was another head injury.

Wonder who, on behalf of the Leafs, signed the trade papers that would have been filed with the NHL offices ?

Do with this as you please lol.

It is rough this early for him to be injured at least a month, a gamble that has not paid off in the least so far, but still early times.

From my recent reading as little as 14 days, as long as 14 weeks depending on severity on injury.

We know NHL LTIR rules:
will be unfit to play for at least twenty-four (24) calendar days and (ii) ten (10) NHL Regular Season games...

So when we talk about trading for a player I can just say hey we signed Patrick Kane at the TRADE deadline and everyone will be cool with that?

If it's 3 and a half months I'd imagine it won't be too long until Murray is having a few brewskies with Lupul and Robidas lol.

The "hurr durr Dumbass is a nerd" cherps are so tiresome, and not even true.

I never said he was a nerd. I'm an academic, so if anyone is a nerd it is me. If you saw that claim about Dumbass in my post then perhaps you need to brush up on your reading comprehension skills.

I get that your man crush on him might cloud your objectivity, but I called him 'Spreadsheet' because of his over-reliance on so-called advanced stats.

There were precisely zero analytics guys hoping the Leafs would bring in Murray.

And where, exactly, did I ever say that there were?

The arguments for Murray were about "pedigree" and "Cups", not stats.

Thanks for the newsflash.

And if anything, the Murray injury is good. Gives the Leafs far more cap flexibility and allows them to carry a full roster.

No, it is good because it might hasten Spreadsheet's firing.

Injury history refers to repeated injuries, not necessarily the same injury being repeated.

Calling him "Spreadsheet" was obviously a perjorative, to imply he's overly reliant on advanced stats. Which you actually can't even support, because many of Dubas' major moves aren't exactly what analytics types would recommend (Murray being a big example, Foligno a big example, Barrie a big example).

His being some spreadsheet/analytics-only guy is just a complete fabrication. If anything, Dubas needs to lean on the analytics more.

And now your only criticism is to say I have a "man crush" on Dubas, which is laughable. I've criticized him a ton. Including on the Murray move. On the Foligno trade. On the Barrie trade, etc. I just make objective and rational opinions, which you're clearly incapable of doing. I can actually evaluate something for legitimate reasons, not reasons that make absolutely no sense.

He acquired him and got less for it than the Buffalo Sabres were offered to take on the cap dump.
Ok but Ottawa knew two things. One our gm wanted him (cause our media is...our media is special) and two they knew we needed a goalie.. they weren't paying the leafs to take him....*looks at posts to likes ratio and realizes he shouldn't even bother*

What is a posts to likes ratio mean or even matter? Seems like a pretty silly way to judge someone

Easier opponent and he gets his feet wet sooner rather than later.
This is the Leafs. Easier opponents don’t exist.

Yes. Imo one of the worst things in sports commentary is the armchair medical analysis. "Injury prone" is one of the most misused phrases on this site.

f*** if I know.

Car salesman knows I wanna buy a car but you still negotiate the living hell out of them right?

Regardless of whether or not this is a new injury, recent history shown the Murray is injury prone.
Dubas and the staff knew the risk of this trade, just glad Sammy seems like he can take the job.

there is also a point where the car salesman doesn't think the deal is worth it anymore.

Do you think there was a chance Mrazek was coming back on the Leafs this season? No.

I think it's the exact same with Murray and Ottawa, they wanted to move on at almost any cost.

To be fair he's had three lower-body injuries before this.

Injury prone goalie has injury.

People have the pikachu shocked face right now.

Samsonov has been great so it's lessened the blow so at least he got a proper alternative in this case.
