Rahim Sterling makes a nice run into the box but the ball gets away from him and he goes down looking for a penalty (shocker) but there wasn't enough there. Then going back defensively Sterling bowls over Insigne and Italy has a free kick at the top of the 18 yard box. Insigne's free kick goes wide though.
Chiesa with a nice run into the box and takes a nice shot to the far post put Pickford makes a nice diving save to keep the ball out.
England corner, and Stones heads the ball but Donnarunna tips the ball over the net. Corner number 2 Italy plays downfield.
Corner for Italy. Bonucci gets on the end of it eventually and levels it for Italy. A bit of a scrambly play in the box and Pickford can't find the ball, then makes a save but Bonucci punches in the rebound. You knew Italy would score at some point. 1-1 game

I'm watching the game on ITV. Not sure how they called the goal. My stupid sleep pattern is out of whack and I slept from the national anthems until the 61st minute.

You couldn't hear it on the call necessarily. They were excited, but then at the half they showed the video feed of their reactions and they're all jumping up and down. Pretty funny to see when you're used to seeing them describe the game so calmly in studio.

Looks like Chiesa might be coming off. We will see.
England finally pressing again in the Ialty half. Insigne fouls Phillips, gets a yellow, and England has a free kick.
And looks like Chiesa is coming off for Bernardeschi. Lucky for England, Chiesa was dangerous and they were having trouble marking him.
Sterling with a really nice touch and run into the box but it just goes out before he can cross it in.
Into added time now, looks like there are 6 additonal minutes to tack on to the 90.

Assuming we'll see Grealish come on for the English to start extra time. Curious to see who Italy brings on, maybe Belotti?

Looks like Locatelli will be coming on for Italy as well shortly. Maybe Southgate is waiting to make his subs until he sees what Mancini does with his subs.

Please. Just score before the penalties. Don't really care who. Hate when big finals are decided with penalties.

Yeah I don't mind so much when it's a quarter final or semifinal, but I'd rather the final be a golden goal format rather than penalties.
Anyways this has been the best game of the tournament so far in my opinion. The quality of play from both sides and lesser number of fouls has been refreshing.
Maguire takes a yellow on Belotti to start the 2nd half of extra time. Italy in a dangerous spot for the free kick but Pickford makes the save.
Stones just misses a header off a cross in from Kane.
Chiellini making another great defensive play to foil Sterling who was sprung into the box by Grealish.
Free kick for England. Looks like Grealish was kicked in the leg by Jorghino who gets a yellow for it. Free kick goes too far and Donnarumma jumps up and grabs it.

No way that England can win a penalty shootout against Italy, Germany or almost anybody. They have to go for a win in last 15 min, but with Southgate in charge, you should expect otherwise.
