Favorite over: Spezza, Daigle, Bonk, Stutzle, Tkachuk, just to name a few?

I’ve been a fan since ‘04, so I missed the early hype.

Hated Spezza’s skating. Did some digging on Jim and did not think his body could handle the smaller ice. Brady is close but we all knew he was a 65+ pt power forward.

My biggest misses were definitely Eaves and Puempel. Thought for sure Eaves could be better than Heater and Puempel a Schwartz like player.

Hit shot just seems overwhelming at that level.

So I just looked over our draft history, and I have to say Kleven is my favourite Sens prospect of all time. Can’t ever remember being so hyped for a kid to make the show.

Meszaros is the only other time I’ve been so sure of a prospect (not named Sanderson) and I think more highly of Kleven than Meszaros.

Digging the positivity.

I thought Spezza was a VG skater and excellent playmaker. I was disappointed that Peumpel did not become an NHL player with us. Heatley was an excellent goal scorer so I never thought Eaves or Peumpel would become as good as him.

IIRC I was more excited for Noesen than Puempel.

So late season 2025 as a regular?

How many games in 2023/24?
How many games in 2024/25 before finally graduating?
Some games. I expect most of next season to be in Belleville. Unless I’m totally wrong and he’s a star. And I expect most of the next season to be in Belleville unless we reaaaaallllyyy want a bruiser in the lineup

That replay does not do Kleven's goal justice. He picked a guy's pocket in the neutral zone and turned up ice, made the whole play happen himself.
I did not see the whole play; I wish those who make such clips would show more of the play and how it developed.

I get into swearing mode when the TV directors choose a camera focused on a player's head, or going to the bench or dressing room, when the puck is in play. Amateur hour direction.

We really do need some bruisers in the lineup. Big physical tough D and 4th line Fs.

Yeah but we want them to be able to play at that level. You can get a cheap guy off FA to go cheap shot if you need

Most of next season .. I think is realistic.. That's one year .. He may need some more the next year.
His dev curve is still moving up.. hopefully he can put it together sooner than later

I’m not saying there’s anything wrong with it. Just what I think. When he gets his start after some time in Belleville I think he go through a “he’s here right now because he’s big not because he’s good” phase.

Get to Belleville. Get consistent and confident. Get to Ottawa.

Hurry up!
No don’t hurry take your time to do it right.
But…hurry up!

Me too. Quite excited for him. Injuries were a serious hindrance to him. Guy is tough as nails, having his career year this year as a great bottom 6 option with Carolina after a terrific campaign in AHL last year (almost 50 goals).

Happy for the guy.
