If the Senators remain in the hunt for a playoff spot I don't see how he gets a game with Ottawa.

If we surpass and have a spot locked up or it becomes clear we are out then he might get in there but I expect he is in Belleville to finish the season.
Play 7 D against Columbus Sunday April 2.

I think he gets one game in. BUT I do agree he's a minimum a year away or more. It's not a given he makes the big show either. There are still questions about his puck moving skills. If he can't do that, then it won't matter how big and mean he is.

I think it was the right decision to stay another year, unlike many posters wanted.

I disagree. This isn't a quirk, it's just a weird thing to say. You can be excited about someone without having to venture into hyperbolic quips to make your point. I've never been more excited about this team, yet the thought of adopting the players has never crossed my mind because it's weird.
Of course it’s a quirk of his character. You’re basically describing yourself and criticizing Pierre for not acting like you do. I can see that it bothers you, but he isn’t you, he’s him.

He also has a lot more to be excited about than you do, so it’s not like the two of you are in the same boat or anything. This is his baby. He clearly enjoys building the team, and is pretty candid with his emotions.

Is what it is I guess, I enjoy his nerdy passion.

He can be passionate but he doesn't have to be a personality for this team. The players are the product, they provide the entertainment and the fans expect to see their personalities. Dorion is a professional manager in a major sports league, not a stand-up comedian. Again, why does he need to make such a ridiculous comment? And judging by the reaction to the comment, it wasn't well received. He wants to say that kind of shit behind closed doors to his co-workers and friends? Go ahead. In front of a microphone, I expect him to be professional, measured and, yes, boring. He's not the guy fans want to see or hear colour from.

Only way he gets in if there are really bad injuries. So hopefully we dont see him. He is going to need a full year in the AHL there is absolutely no rush with this player.

Other possibility is he plays a game if we've locked down a playoff spot before the final game, the way we did with White I believe, I'd say that would be ideal.

Yeah I mean, this is going to go down to the wire I think. But yes that would be ideal.

Hockey is an entertainment business, it’s a sport, a game.

He doesnt ‘need’ to make colourful comments, and he’s not trying to be the ‘personality of the team’, and he isn’t anyways, in my opinion.

He’s just answering questions in his own way, you know being his normal passionate and emotional self. It’s clearly just who he is. I find it weird that people struggle to make room for quirky folks, like we need more measures business talk people in our lives… lol

I don’t have a problem with it, nor do I see it being any kind of issue beyond super fans on HFSens And Twitter who always need a reason to be griping online.

Its always going to be too much personality, too little personality, too candid, not candid enough. Who cares? It has zero effect on the team, how people view the team, or how the team performs.

Anyways, clearly some people care, have at it I guess.

I dream of adopting players all the time. Imagine the parking spot you'd get. And the rides home after the game. "You played well, Tyler. Coach should've had you on PK1. Why did you let Kane in your kitchen? He cross-checks you, you cross-check him back twice as hard. Did you have fun though? That's the important thing."

Quick ticket to retirement right here.

Pretty sure this has been his goal for a long time, as it is for all these guys. And he's right on track developmentally. Plus who wouldn't want to climb aboard for the ride for the fyous.
True but I am sure he wants to play in Ottawa

Imagine if HF Sens was like this?

Agreed - why would they prioritize his development over Holden / JBD who both have shown significantly more in NHL? Belleville makes sense.
Why would they prioritize his development over Holden??! You can't be serious.... Did you mean to say Thomson? Or maybe Brannstrom?

Anyways, Belleville makes sense, especially if we are in the thick of a playoff race, but getting College guys a few games in the NHL after they sign is pretty common, we did it with White, Wolanin got 10 coming out of college, JBD got 5,

It's part of their development, these guys are 20-21 years old, not 18 year old rookies, they get a taste to see what the expectations are at that level to show them how much work is left to get there

I don't see Kleven or any other prospect playing in Ottawa until they are mathematically eliminated & out of the playoff race. If or once that happens then I think they have a look at several prospects including Kleven.

Can’t throw him in while we’re in the race. As everyone has already pointed.

Hopefully he can get like a dozen ahl games and an nhl game at the very end
