Agreed. I’d keep one of our goalies as well, but I’d listen to offers for both.
Unpopular opinion but I would as well, Ullmark may never have a higher value than he does this offseason - that said I bet they keep the tandem and try to get Sway on a bridge deal. Around 8 to 9 mil total for that tandem is a steal and a big strength moving forward.

If you think about it, Vasilevsky makes 9.5 You can win with a goalie (or tandem for that matter) making 8-9.

I don't mess with our goalie situation at all.

Just in terms of asset management, the Bruins likely are better off shopping Ullmark at his absolute peak value this offseason. Vezina, record-setting seaosn, goals, fights, possible Conn Smythe? A playoff team or borderline team that's a goalie away from a run (LA, Seattle, possibly Colorado, Pittsburgh, etc.) will give up a lot for that. Swayman is an RFA and only worth what his compensation could be in an offer sheet, which is like two 2nd rounders maybe.

We're in cap jail and with Bergeron/Krejci likely retiring, the limited pipeline of centers, likelihood that Gryz/Hall among others will be traded and Clifton walking in free agency, I don't suspect the Bruins will be anywhere near favored to make a cup run in 2024 or 2025. But at that point they'll have expiring money, prospects like Lysell, Harrison, Poitras closer to breaking, etc. and they'll be able to rebuild around Pasta/McAvoy/Lindholm/Zacha. Jeremy Swayman could be under team control for that time and can be the starting goalie at that point. Ullmark is a UFA in 2 years, he can walk for nothing theoretically after two seasons in which we are not expecting to be contenders. It seems pretty open and shut to me who they should be shopping.

But I've been wrong about just about every move Don Sweeney's made the last few summers, so I guess we'll see how it all plays out.

Lots of questionable plays just inside our blueline. But you take the bad with the good
I thought he played exceptionally after that. I thought he was our best forward tonight actually.

I like him more than Pastrnak up front (in the playoffs). I'd move mountains to keep him.

He was great after coughing up that first goal. He was hitting, energized, trying to create. Unlike Pastrnak.

It cost the Bruins a first and a 4th round pick and by doing so Don Sweeney has help put Millons of dollars in Bertuzzi pockets. Larkin mentioned it after the trade that Tyler Bertuzzi is a warrior and the Bruins are going to war and there's no one he rather go to war with than Bertuzzi. He's proven Larkin right and thanks for the trade he's going to be an even richer man than he would of been, hopefully the Bruins find room for him, but I think he's played his way out of Boston. Hopefully he drinks out of the Cup first !

If you turn the keys over to Swayman now and into next year, then you can use some of Ullmark's salary (trade) to pay Bertuzzi.

I was looking at ways to keep at least one of Orlov or Bertuzzi (one is doable, two is very challenging), preferring Orlov.

I'm starting to think Bertuzzi should be the priority over Orlov.

My bet is he goes back to Detroit to be with his BFF. Won't be surprised if Det opens the checkbook for him. He reportedly really liked living in Detroit as well. I hope DS is at least interested in making Bert a competitive offer. Would be awesome if Bert decides to stay in Boston. Such a good deadline signing. He seems to have good chemistry with Pasta and was crucial in keeping a struggling Bs PP afloat.

I really doubt they are going to re-sign any of new guys. The way this team choked tonight rebuilding is a very good bet.
