You guys are probably right. Keeping Orlove may prove a luxury. I like him very much, though.

I'm extremely high on all three of the pre deadline acquisition relative to what they bring to the Bruins as *a team.*

They cement what was already there per physical, in your face play, and they all have skill as well.

We'll see how things shake out.

Let's hope it's a good while before any decisions have to be made.

Looking for that beautiful Orlov pass which resulted in a goal, and it's not the stuff here against Calgary. I don't think it was against Buffalo, either.

Lil' help?

The silver lining in all this is that DS has a history of trying to re-sign big deadline pieces. While I don't see how he can possibly bring all 3 back, I do think he intends on trying to bring back one or two.

I'm with you on Orlov. He is a beauty. His game and overall vibe are tremendous. I said that bringing Orlov back would be a luxury, but I will be over the moon if DS can work out a way to keep him.

Now that Pasta is signed long-term, it just makes so much sense for Bert to be part of the plan if only one of the three can be signed. He def would be my primary target in retaining. Thing is, Bert is increasing his value for his next contract every time he steps on the ice. Has he integrated into and gelled enough with the team to the point of wanting to stay even if it means signing for below market value? We shall see.

I expect that unless we get more than a million dollar increase in the cap in the summer (and by more I mean closer to 4) we will once again see a lot of 1-year and 2-year deals like we did last summer.

Just a real shitty time for Bertuzzi and Orlov to want to hit on a big contract with term, unless they want to go play in Chicago or Arizona or Columbus. And who wants to go there after playing here?

Time for ol’ Marty to start some “negotiations” with Bettman…

Just hope Bruins move whoever they have to in order to keep Bertuzzi.Playing with Pasta should help sweeten the pot to

Pastrnak & Bertuzzi like peanut butter & grape jelly

I was told in Canada by more than one person they didn’t know what it was - and my twenty something daughter told me - humiliated me - by backing up their assertion by saying only old people know it or like grape jelly. Raspberry is what goes in a PBJ

Outrageous

Hopefully he keeps racking up the points

But if he does keeps this up

Some GM is gonna give him a monster contract the bruins won’t be able to match

Praying we find a way I want Bert to be a long term Bruin

love watching him play

We make our own grape jelly. It's the absolute bomb.

I could see Orlov chasing as much money as he can and I say do it, hes won already (hopefully gets a second this year) and he's 31, its his last chance to really get money somewhere.

Bert though, Its in his best interest to "bridge" at 6ish for 1 to 2 years. Play with Pasta, rack up points, and when the cap hits 90+ he will still be what 30? someone will throw the bank at him. I can see that being a suggestion from his agent and an offer from Sweenius/Gold.

any chance that Sweeney can sign some of these guys to 1-2 year deals with a verble agreement for another once the cap changes? I know that in general that's not wise but im wondering if the bruins gain enough respect from these guys and they want to be here it'll be something they consider. Especially if they end up winning a cup here

I bet - love the stuff
Best part of making jelly is that if it fails to set, then you've just made fruit flavored syrup which is great on pancakes. We failed with a large batch of apple jelly and had waffles every weekend for a month in order to use it up -- fun times.

Maybe Hathaway who’s a depth player. Harder for a guy like Orlov where this is likely his last chance to cash in for his career and an injury next year could cost him 10s of millions. Bert is a bit younger but you also can’t expect him to put the Bruins before his own security, especially with his performance thus far. Lots of eyes on all 3 from hungry/desperate GMs.

Hopefully they want to be here and would be willing to sign a fair or team-friendly deal. But can’t really hope for anything else. Just hope they all continue to play as well as they have. All of them have been absolutely fantastic.

I'd wager that Sweeney knew shortly after the trade with Washington what it would take to sign Orlov and Hathaway. Bertuzzi not so much because he was just a filler because of injuries.

So, I presume now he knows what it will take to sign any of three and they've (internally) had discussions about which one (or two) to keep and how to get there. I don't see anyway they could keep all three with circumstances the way they are today.

I was running some numbers and to get all three back it would take almost $90M cap + Grz/Forbort/Frederic/Zboril/Reilly gone (and no buyout for Reilly). So, yeah, pipe dream.

Gimme peanut butter and raspberry, strawberry, or blueberry over grape.

And I’d consider moving pieces off the roster to keep Bertuzzi and Orlov.

The only guys I’m not moving are:

McAvoy
Pastrnak
Lindholm

Other than that, let’s talk.
