I also didn’t pay enough attention through one watching to recall why they would have ditched the JG’s radio but they didn’t need to get 100 miles on foot, they just needed to get back within signal range. The target was ~100 clicks out and they had comms when JG called it in. When they fled from the Taliban they lost signal range in the truck. They couldn’t have gone more than 10 miles. In theory they should have been back within comms range by the time they made it to that house.

Regardless of things that didn’t make perfect sense, it was the way it was filmed, the quality of the relationship, the message of perseverance and honoring promises and the quality of the acting that made it very enjoyable for me.
I liked Antony Starr from The Boys as the private contractor. That was unexpected.

Former Ranger Sean Avery has a role in Christopher Nolan's upcoming film Oppenheimer. I looked at his IMDB page and he was also in Nolan's Tenet. I had no idea.
I actually might go to the movie theatre 3 weeks in a row....

it's like it's 1999.

Who's ready to see Oppenheimer in Imax?

If you have a 70MM Imax theatre near you id make it priority to see it that way.

There arent many out there
We have 70MM fairly close by but the nearest multiple laser one is 3.5 hrs lol

I guess I'll "settle" for 70MM

Anyone watch The Bear on FX?

The editing is great & if you're a fan of long steadicam shots, a la Goodfellas, through multiple lighting scenarios & focal lengths it's brilliant. Almost showing off brilliant.

I thought 70mm was the "true" IMAX? Which sucks because apparently there isn't an actual 70mm IMAX in ALL OF COLORADO... We went to Ghost Protocol at our local "IMAX" last weekend and it was clearly just a bigger than normal screen. So disappointing.

70mm is the size I think but apparently there are some (very few tho) with dual laser projectors that are super sharp… along w stunning audio.

Anyone doing Barbenheimer?

I am a big fan of Dateline, specifically Keith Morrison, if you didn't know.

I’m going to the AMC at Roosevelt Field Mall and it says Laser. I hope that means Laser IMAX. I spent like 20 mins reading up on the differences between that, IMAX, 70 mm, 35 mm, RPX. I’m too confused lol.

I liked the show .

Changing the subject a bit.....I am 99.99 % sure I shared the same grocery shopping aisle yesterday as Elisha Cuthbert . As soon as she walked through the doors she caught my eye and I made a couple of circles around the bread stand looking for some rolls while she was surfing the greens and fresh berries section. I was attempting to remain a ways off in the distance LMAO and not get caught staring ......and she was wicked BEAUTIFUL looking .

There was a huge celebrity golf event taking place over the weekend at our local course.....I have to assume Dion Phaneuf was taking part . Turk and his wife were there Wednesday evening when we were heading our for a round . I never saw him but my better half spied them when they were checking in at the front desk. Noah Dobson was also there and many others .

You guys ever seen Shrek? Shrek 2? Shrek the Third? Shrek Forever After? Puss in Boots?

Because I have. 10x or more each, in the past month. Because my son exclusively loves Shrek. We are living in a 24/7 Shreko-chamber.
Just wait until he gets Paw Patrol or Blue's Clues fever

Since there are only a few IMAX 70MM theatres out there the choice is really between 70 MM film and IMAX laser.

Nolan said that the traditional 70 MM film is the next best but it really depends on the specific theatre. While the resolution is very sharp and the large format size captures more of the intended scene, Ive heard that the black and white imaging can be a little yellow and the audio muddled compared to IMAX.

IMAX laser on the other hand delivers much better sound quality and the overall experience is likely the second best option. I have tickets to an IMAX laser for a Friday matinee and the seats are center 5 rows from the top, imo the one of the best spots. Cant wait.
