2014 he posted a .929 sv% down the stretch
2015 he posted a .908 sv% down the stretch

People may want to reconsider their 3 years running on Rask and amend it to 1.5

As well he was good in both the Ottawa game and Toronto. But he got the L so he's choking. If it's not a shut out Rask sucks.

I'd settle for under 2.00 GAA and .920 Save % down the stretch. I mean, maybe I'm asking too much from a guy making 7 million a year, tied with 3rd most in the league.

He was awesome in the beginning of the season, but he's not a work horse, and he's shown he falls apart easily.

There aren't better options (outside of having Martin Jones for a few minutes), and we live and have been dying with Rask.

I think it's very possible if we move him, he returns to form, put him behind a solid defense, and he'll probably put up Vezina like numbers again. Like Julien, I just don't think he's gonna get that success here. Not any time soon.

I forgot that they don't have to keep him. This team has been in purgatory for 3 seasons, they need a shakeup. Still, I think trade route is the way to go.

I look forward to whoever replaces Rask so we can't start blaming him for everything.

It's not entirely Rask's fault.

But he's a key player in the most key position, and he's really not looking anything remotely like a top guy. Maybe it's fatigue. Maybe it was the Josi shot to the dome. Maybe it's our defense. But it's always something.

You can defend him all you want. I'm just not personally happy with his contributions of late. If you are fine with them, or accept the excuses, more power to you.

Bruins really really REALLY needed Rask to make that save on Drouin in the 3rd period. Inexcusable. If Drouin makes a perfect shot - fine. But, that was a very savable shot. :(

Being good two times out of three isn't very useful, for a $7m goalie. We need him to be good nine times out of ten.

My take on Rask is that he is a good goalie that can play great for stretches but I have never had any faith in him when it mattered. He is not a big game performer and has shown time and time again that when it matters he doesn't come up with the big save.

I think he is very good most of the time but if this team wants to be a cup contender in a couple years he is not who I want in net for a cup run.

“Bad goal,†said Rask, later adding, “a lot of times, the goalie has to make a couple of extra stops, and today I didn’t. That is part of my job to accept the fact that is your fault — a couple of times I should have made the save, but that happens sometimes.â€

Cassidy, asked if Rask’s focus was off, or if his goaltender looked tired, said he did not have the answer.

“He needed to be better tonight,†added Cassidy. “We needed to be better in front of him, and he needed to be better on some of those goals. Focus, I mean, it’s March 23rd, our focus needs to be there. You would hope it is more fatigue than focus at this point of the year, but I can only speculate.â€

Mistakes happen. The best goalies act as erasers, scrubbing out skaters’ errors and correcting them with glove saves and kickouts. When his teammates needed assistance, the kind he has provided in the past, Rask poured gasoline on the flames instead of dousing them with a hose.

“You have to,†Rask (23 saves on 28 shots) said of his ability to negate other players’ mistakes. “A lot of times, that’s the case. A goalie has to make a couple extra stops. Today, I didn’t. That’s part of my job to accept the fact that sometimes it’s your fault. A couple times, I should have made a save.â€

He's just a mediocre goalie now. The league is filled with them. You could deal him, but like I said there are so many goalies that are just 'meh. Sometimes it's better to know the devil you own or whatever that saying is.

He just plays to deep, goes down to quickly and is terrible on screens. All these things seem mechanical and fixable to me, but it's either never addressed or he just won't change. Last night one save he was so aggressive and came out and cut down the angle..loved seeing it and wish he did it more. He's so passive.

Tuukka is obviously very talented but I just don't think he has that extra something like Thomas had. I'd get rid of him if we could.

Rask is not Elite and does not have the It Factor and never thought he would lead this team to a cup. He seems to lose focus and seems to let in an easy goal when we need a big save.

Rask really needs psychological help. The guy always collapses like a house of cards when it matters.

Maybe it would be better to explore the trade options this offseason.
