its time to move on from him.

Id like to see us get Condon for next year. He reminds me of Thomas in a way. He's played well for MTL and OTT. He's prob cheap.

Then try and get somebody for Rask. It will be hard getting somebody to take on that 7 mil. yuck.

Rask has not been good at all lately. No excuse for that.

But I think if you put a real defense in front of him he'd be fine (or atleast a little better). This defense has been garbage for 3 years. Is it any coincidence we might miss the playoffs 3 times in a row? No
The common denominator's are a ****** D and Rask. We know Rask can't carry a ****** D. So do you fix the ****y D or get rid of the overpaid goalie? Both? None? You get rid of Rask and you have a bad defense and no goalie.

Carlo saved this D from being a joke and now that he's struggling it's back to being below average. A rookie should not be relied on to take top 2 minutes for a playoff run. Also, McQuaid should never be in the top 4 ever. EDM, TOR, OTT, TB, all have better defenses than us and that's not saying much.

The scary part is since the management pretending that they are still a good team, if they miss the playoffs again they will blow it up. If they just called this team for what is was 3 years ago, not good, there wouldn't be any shock as to why we are struggle. Heck maybe they would have even tried to make the defense better.

That is the real issue...he is one of the highest paid goalies iN the world...his level of performance should not hinge on how his defense plays. If that was the standard, then dobby would be making 7 mill on a good team. Goalies like rask should steal games ...like Carey price does...tooks just does not. At least not any more. He has bad to average for the last 30-40 games. That is unacceptable for a guy making 7 million.

If he's here next season they need to change what they control with this guy. Goalie coach, conditioning, therapist - all of it. A world of talent but the issues are adding up.

2U's, 2 K's how about 1F and 1U, Rask is not that good have no confidence in him, trade him and sign Bishop and Condon/Budaj.

The guy needs a 30 game back up, he's shown that he can't hadle the big work load. His best seasons have been short ones.

I've defended him a lot and I don't think you can pin last night solely on him, but in the same way they need Marchand or Pastrnak or Bergeron or Krejci to score big goals, he needs to make big saves. He's paid the way he his because he's capable of it, fair or not, he's got to make saves that an average goalie shouldn't make. They need him to be the star, plain and simple. He's pretty bad for the last 2 months and it was being covered up by the all the goal scoring.

For every great save tuukka makes he lets in two soft goals. Where is the benefit of paying a guy 7m because hes a above average goalie but at 7m you should be able to carry a team. Price/Quick/Lundqvist money means Quick/Lundqvist/Price performance, which Tuukka can give but only sporadically.

Cut bait with him. Hes good enough to get a few games for us but in the end if we still miss the playoffs what is the point?

I posted last season that the bruins should try to acquire Mike Condon for Malcolm Subban. This is when Condon was playing for the Montreal Canadiens and P.k. was still part of the habs organization. I believe back then Montreal would have taken that trade 1 for 1 in a heartbeat.Everyone on this board shot me down for even thinking of a trade like that. Even better Condon was put on waivers and the bruins did not even think about picking him up, knowing they were in need of a reliable back-up.( that's on management !!!) Now
look what Mike Condon is doing with the Ottawa Senators and look where Malcolm Subban is the back-up goalie in providence.

Rask is a big name. A team like Dallas would take his salary and give assets for that alone.

I'm sure we could move him- but who is in our net next season? A 1-2 punch of Dobby and Zane? Rather have Lehtonen and Niemi to be honest. Chad Johnson or Brian Elliott, Ben Bishop? I think those three are the best pending UFAs, right? Are nny of those three preferable to Tuuka at probably the same type of money?

Time for Rask to put in some conditioning training. Many goalies play the same amount or more. He cannot look spent right now as (if we make it) is just about to start....

You may have a point here. At the least Sweeney should be exploring all options when it comes to goalies. Maybe a change of scenery will be best for both parties.

#NHLBruins coach B.Cassidy said Rask had a maintenance day; said he'd know more about availability tomorrow AM.

#NHLBruins coach Cassidy on Rask (Pt. 1): "Tuukka had a maintenance day. He's getting a little work done."

If we could get Bishop for $6 - $6.5M I would take him for sure then add a reliable backup like Condon or maybe Budaj that would be a big improvement and along with whatever Asset(s) you get back for Rask could really be good for the team going forward.
