Louis Jean getting snuffed out at TVA Spanre since mid-December, is an ongoing mystery.

Maybe our own @dinodebino who used to be in the media business, can shed some light? Otherwise, we’re going to have to see if we can get @Adam Michaels to use his Twitter account to get anyone in the media business to respond and get to the bottom of it.

I don’t remember ever seeing a well known mainstream Franco sports media personality being removed from a network without an official announcement of his whereabouts and the details behind its decision, for such a lengthy period of time since his removal.

The last time a similar event occurred, the host of AC ended up quitting but at least the details regarding his scandal came out almost immediately. Not with Louis Jean — no one appears to want to talk about it other than the generalities put out by Michel Villeneuve and Tom Lapointe.
rumour has it he was doing the horizontal mambo with Renaud Depot's wife. What a weird story

I never understand these guys like Louis who have notoriety, are handsome and can see anyone but no, they have to pull off garbage like that. Total idiot, assuming the story is accurate (same caveat will implicitly apply to all my posts about this subject, without having to repeat it every time).

didn't know where else to put this - John Scott's podcast and they're interviewing milan lucic - it's a great listen, but if you want to scroll ahead to the part where he discusses almost joining the habs in 2016..it's at the 38 min mark. very interesting

It happened with Villeneuve as well. He was the host of a TVA late night show and around the time of the Chara on Pacioretti incident, there was a discussion around it and the majority of the panelists including MV didn't fault Chara. They was a big uproar and letters from the fans over it. Michel had a heated discussion with his boss and he quit the show and retired from journalism. Personally I disagreed with their take but I don't think TVA should have crawled under the pressure.

I won't denounce my source, but let's just say that one person who does some work with the hockey coverage crew told me that Louis Jean had an affair with Renaud Lavoie's girlfriend, who also works at TVA Sports. I am ready to vouch for my source (a mod can PM me on this no problem). Not there to start ragging on Renaud nor Louis, but it did happen, if I'm to believe the source. I knew this story from a while back. So it did not come as a surprise to me when Louis Jean was unceremoniously cut from the team. In fact, my source's reaction was : 'They finally did it.'

Holly shit! I knew this guy was too pretty. lol My rumour of him getting in a fight with a colleague was not far off.

I guess that handsomeness come with a price. Even my girlfriend and mom are in love with Louis. I'm guessing a lot of women have the hots for him and that temptation on this level must be hard to deal with. lol

I will wait till it's revealed to be true before announcing that to my mom and break her heart.

I think when Lucic signed with Edmonton, it was reported that he left money on the table. You gotta wonder if that team was montreal.

Point is, guys like Louis Jean are in a privileged position to date anyone. Why get involved with a colleague’s GF who was employed at the same station? He won a stupid prize for playing a stupid game. Could have been avoided.

I tend to stay out of the way of this personal kind of stuff, but are we even sure that this even happened? Should we be posing this as if it's a fact?

We have a credible poster who offered to have his source vetted by the mods here. You can choose not to believe it, it’s your prerogative. To each their own.

I’ll take it out and then we will let the chips fall as they may.

There. I’ve taken it out. BTW, I learned about this story last Summer I believe. So it’s not new.

And one day, it might come out.

I respect whatever decision you take. However, you did offer to share your source so that tells me it’s serious and you would not have posted it if it was purely speculative. Thanks again for having shared.

I went to high school with Renaud's Grilfriend, they have been together for a very long time. They met when they both worked at RDS on l'Antichambre. Renaud is 16 years older witch was weird to me as she was 20 years old at the time...

There are more sources in French but like anything else, there is good and bad. For instance, I have zero interest in listening to a dinosaur like Reggie Tremblay or this corny Louis guy who invaded all call-in shows so whenever these guys are on air I’m forced to move elsewhere or just shut it down. Silence is way better than these turds.

Melnick has always tried to provide an eclectic mix when it comes to his show. He has close ties with a lot of obscure musicians (that his booking company signs up for gigs) and then promotes them on 690. A lot of these musicians are very niche players, typically performing folk music, sometimes rock. His obsession with Bob Dylan has to be the most abhorrent.

He also has close ties with the city’s comedy acts and branches out to several in other cities during the comedy fest in the summer. Same approach, he gets them on air to do interviews and to perform bits, does a whole lot of schmoozing by promoting their shows and the same starts all over the following year.

That’s Melnick’s idea of an afternoon sports show. His best moments are when he gets quality sports pundits on but otherwise, it’s all over the place. The difference on the Franco side is that they tend to be more regimented, they’ll be much more sports-focused.

For sure. But a lot of times love connections happens at your place of work. You are with that person constantly. Hell it is maybe at that place where Renault met her in the first place. Renault saw her, fell in love. Louis saw her, fell in love. Watch out, Morisette is next!

For sure, you never know what happens when emotions are involved. It can cloud your better judgment. I just thought that these guys generally are not wanting for options so seeing them gravitate towards a quagmire situation that can jeopardize their job and reputation, is always riveting as an outside observer without those privileges, lol.

Morissette? Now that would be outrageous.

Frankly the podcast scene is much better than the radio scene for English Habs fans. I know some people dont like Nilan but his podcasts and interviews are much more interesting than TSN 690.
