He's a defensive specialist. Not very sexy, just useful when a team face a monster production line.
There is too much hype about anything in sport but I'm surprised it includes a defensive specialist.

Dany Dubé said LA Kings could be a cinderella team in the next PO. It's a team who is falling under the radar. Their last SC they made the PO the very last game. I imagine your face if they win the SC, the moment Philip lift the cup, well, I would feel sorry for the wall the moment your head would smash it, lol.

edit : but don't worry, when I watched the Kings I found their D horrible, except for Doughty. And Philip is not that good this year. He looks like he's playing on cruise control, maybe they told him to save his energy for the PO. Interresting, to be followed.

Since Sean Campbell became a go to guy on this station I stopped listening. Melnyk has become lame, their entire cast is f***in vanilla.

I’ll catch them once in a while but it’s more to listen to their guests.

Marinaro was the only one worth listening to.Sometimes he talked too much soccer.Sometimes he was this and that but not boring.Tried to listen a couple of times since .Never had it on more than 15 minutes when i shut it off.Oh and yes that music they play for a filler is more than i can handle.You would think with all the money TSN has they could get better than these clowns currently on the air.The program director should be fired pronto.

I try n catch the Aaron Ward segments.on the show.. The rest.....meh.

I stopped listening to all live TSN 690 radio and I only listen to the odd segments posted on their website after they aired which seem to come from the evening/Melnick slot (e.g. Gord Miller).

I won't listen to any segments from the morning (Dreger etc) because I don't want to validate Connor McKenna's existence. He's completely clueless on any sports topic but is very smug and lacks any sort of self-awareness.

TVA Sport is showing 1982 final game NYI vs Vancouver. Good to see Brain Trottier, Gillies, Bossy, Tonelli, Potvin, Butch Goring, Nystrom and Tiger Williams. Quality of image is so and so but watchable.

Vancouver had that yellow jersey with a big V in red. That's retro !!

Yea, they showed two Isles games from the 80's that day. It was the one-year anniversary of Bossy's passing. So they commemorated his memory by showing two of his games.

Islanders in the 80s might have been the most incredible hockey machine I've ever seen. So hard to beat because they were skilled but also so damn big and strong. And an incredible coach with a tight system. I don't understand how the Oilers managed to beat them. Even their skilled players were strong.

Commercials are becoming more and more irksome — gambling, funeral homes, sexual dysfunction, you name it. Doesn’t anyone have good apple pies to sell?

At least on radio you know what they are selling. Some commercials on television I have no idea until the end,usually not what I was expecting.

Whatever happened to the restraint they used to exercise during « family » timeslots? Conventional commercial radio has long been dying and them featuring these types of ads is just an indication that they don’t have much better to choose from.

Plus, there’s a whole lot of creepy banter that is usually initiated by Melnick, so there’s no getting around it. They’ve never heard of TMI on that show.

I should look into XM radio. Local offerings are just not cutting it.

Hi, have not ben for I’d say a decade, but most clubs have beautiful women… You could probably read reviews somewhere and make it an evening to walk from one to the next We used to go as couples every blue moon, I just remember Chez Pare made me feel more like I was at the sugar shack than a red light district after visiting a few… Not an expert here, it’s just been associated with Montreal forever in the folklore and it’s not really upscale or cool lol
