Player Discussion Troy Terry

Terry making 9.5ish million less than Marner, insane value.

Bonino never carried the puck like Terry does consistently. Bonino just had a really good feel for the game he had no where near the dynamic game Terry currently does.

I was watching a playoff game against Dallas recently and Bonino was pretty damn creative and shifty with the puck, he definitely carried it plenty. Just at a lower pace than Terry.

He ripped one off the crossbar and set up Lundestrom for a great one-time chance in the last few minutes of the game. It wasn't his best game of the year, but he definitely still could have had a point or two.

He made an effort on Drysdales goal but it did not show up on the scoresheet. He hit the post on a beautiful play on the PP, he made an incredible opportunity for Lundy at the end of the game. Maintaining these streaks is extremely difficult but the main thing is, I think Terry looked very good even without a point.

He was amongst our top 5 best forwards for sure.

That move he made was sick. Gets the pass from Zegras at the line(underrated play by Z btw), fakes off one defender, stick handles a couple times to the net, then gets the goalie to think he’s gonna drag it all the way to the far post only to slide it 5-hole once he commits

He knew exactly what he was doing right when he got the puck and pulled it off. Looked like a 40 goal scorer

That will be really cool because
Last time the Ducks had a 30+ goal scorer was in 2017-18 season with Rakell having 34, Getzlaf had a point per game season that year.

Zegras drew 3 or 4 defenders to him but the change in mindset from Terry to shoot the puck more or atleast more often when he has a good opportunity has made a big difference

It feels like that is the key difference between last year and this year. I was talking to someone and mentioned that it seemed like Terry would have pulled the same move (faked out the defender and gone to the net) but would have passed it over and probably resulted in the puck going the other way. This year, that last step of decision making is better and (maybe it just seems like it to me) faster. I don't know if he spent the summer working out while listening to a therapist/motivational speaker, but the confidence he shows making that (correct) final decision is huge.

Terry, Manson, Kase – low rounders can be valuable so shouldn't be seen as ''nothing'' in trade talks. Of course there are far more not so successful cases but if you hit it, you can get a first rounds worth and above

might be confusing him with another french-canadian prospect, but i think Habs fans were really high on Leblanc and were trying to sell him to fans of other teams. He was as vanilla as they come and didn't even tear up the AHL.

That stat image is so funny.

I know I harp on Terry a lot, but if he didn't put it all together this year, that stat would be irrelevant. Louie Leblanc was a limited potential project prospect, Terry was a fringe NHL'er before this year.

14th goal of the season needs 1 more scored this season to equal the amount of total goals in his career he had before this season started
