Player Discussion Troy Terry

Been trying hard to think of a guy who plays like Terry and having a bit of trouble - like, Rakell? Or maybe Perron or Perry without the physicality?

Such a great start to the season with this career year. He has almost as many goals this season as he had in all past season combined which is just crazy. I wonder what his totals will be at season end. Any predictions?

That ESPN article was great.

It's always been obvious that Terry has a ton of talent and potential. Those flashes of brilliance that would come out every few games oozed potential. I never wanted him traded and was scared that he might.

A lot of us (me included) thought that starting this year off w/ Getzy was an awful idea, since both are pass-first and their chemistry in the past was spotty at best. I also personally thought Terry's shot wasn't strong enough to make him a good enough scorer. I'm glad that I was wrong.

Likewise. I've never been this happy to be so wrong.

To our defense, all the evidence pointed to those guys just not working at all. It's crazy how quickly and dramatically that changed.

A faster, probably more talented, Bonino.
Bonino never carried the puck like Terry does consistently. Bonino just had a really good feel for the game he had no where near the dynamic game Terry currently does.

Bonino absolutely could carry the puck and make those moves, he was just too slow to do it as effectively.
So it's not a good comparison then lol. Bonino never carried the puck in as often at Terry seems like he creates a scoring chance or defensive play every shift now. I don't think they are comparable or even play a similar game and I love Bonino just a different style.

Somebody compared him to Marner and I think that’s an accurate description
Closer to Marner than Bonino, but Marner is a lot more explosive. Terry does that the line driving and defensive backchecking like Marner.

Well, good for us that Terry doesn't fold like wet cardboard when confronted with any kind of physical contact.
and he knows how to backcheck/play defense.

Gaudreau is a criminally underrated player on these boards. I think I read he’s first in even strength offense since he came into the league. No, hes not perfect but the dude is borderline hall of fame talent

You seem to be under the impression that we're supposed to be unbiased when it comes to other teams' stars. Not the case, my friend.

I'm not about to say I wouldn't take him for free, though. He's absolutely an excellent player. That said, until he wins a Cup I will continue to underrate him, as is tradition.

Remember when the Ducks bullied him so bad he stayed on the bench for the rest of the game. I remember the Ducks skating by and chirping him. Good times.
