Would love for Boston to add Trouba, but I don't think we have a LDH that matches up.

I don't think the Jets trade Trouba to a team they will be growing against as a main rival for the next 8 years. Any trade has "Trouba to the East" written all over it IMO. Nurse is a very good, young player but teams in the East will be able to match (or surpass) that offer.

Unfortunately Jets fans want Draisaitl plus Nurse

No we don't, let's not make crap up now. Even if one poster said that (not going to look at every post) that doesn't mean all or most feel that. Nurse is of zero interest. Drai of course is very interesting

The Outer Limits.
The only leverage Chevy needs is having multiple teams interested in him. So far, thus thread makes it clear that lots of teams would love to get Trouba. I agree. Best offer wins. Chevy will wait till he gets his price. Jets don't need to win now, and Chevy has the backing of a tough ownership group that won't cave if the trade takes some time.

Going public doesn't change much of anything on the trade market. Chevy probably already has had talks with most teams. It's just fans that found out this late in the process. Overhardt hopes this will put pressure on Chevy to make a trade before Trouba misses any pay cheques. It won't.

Agreed 100%

Too bad majority of fans cannot see this.

There's no rush for Chevy. He can take all the time he needs to orchestrate a trade that makes sense for the Jets. This is nothing more than Kurt Overhardt trying to force Chevy's hand but we all know Chevy is as patient as the day is long

Too bad Trouba isn't worth either of those players.

What would Winnipeg have to add for a Lindholm/Trouba swap?

I don't see the Ducks dealing Lindholm for even someone with Trouba's upside. BUT, I could see Fowler being a main piece in any deal. The problems though are...

1. The Jets would be keeping Trouba in the West and I think they'd much rather deal him out of the conference.

2. The Ducks already have massive contracts on the books and dealing with Trouba as a RFA is not something they would like to do IMO.

Jets should do everything they can to sign this guy. What's their problem? He's their future not Buff or Myers. He would grow with their young core. :shakehead

I agree with you that Myers is the piece that should be moved. That said, I think the Jets could land a mini-haul for Trouba... for Myers, not so much.

Well if he wants to play RD we have a couple openings

if he can't play with Reilly he can certainly play with Gardiner

I think so. But I'll push my luck here

Bishop
Sustr
2nd round pick

Trouba
Connor
1st round pick

I really don't think I'm being unfair here

Absolutely astounding

That "long list" of interested teams is what will determine trade value, not the fact that fans now find out he's on the trade block.
yep, he'll go to the team that gives wpg the best deal. Their leverage is competition among other teams

Trouba not worth Nurse, lol.

Nurse and a 1st is where it starts. Nurse himself isn't enough "hockey player" coming back actually, so it's not even a real start. A better player would be needed if trouba is going.

I haven't read the thread at all. Nor do I care to. If RNH for Trouba is no good and 'doesn't fill a need' then goodluck getting something better for Trouba.

You don't understand. Jets want a worse player than RNH for Trouba because the Jets have specific needs. If they took RNH then they'd have to trade Little or make Little third line centre. That would cost them $2 million more a year. They are on a fixed budget.

Maybe it was arguable that he was worth nurse and a 1st before, but definitely not now that he wants out. As much as fans want to be in denial about it, his value has gone way down in the last 24 hrs

Winnipeg adds a lot. Totally unfair to Tampa :sarcasm:

As a neutral fan I think Drai carries more value than Trouba. Sounds like Nurse + small add is fair.

There was also a 3 way deal proposed that I really thought was fair. Can't find the post but it was something like:
ANA: JVR
WPG: Fowler + Kapanen
TOR: Trouba

End of the day I hope Winnipeg gets back fair value for him.
