Take your pick from the Oilers LHD excluding Klefbom. Add if you want.

Nurse, Sekera, Reinhart, Davidson, Oesterle, Paigin, Niemelainen, Betker, Musil, Jones, Simpon etc..

The ask would likely be Nurse+ like it was for Hamilton.

Actually as an Oiler fan I would not offer anything for him unless we could agree to a reasonable contract in advance. Im not giving up good assets for a guy that may actually think he is worth 5 or 6 million a year. The issue is not so much with Trouba on this but his agent.

He hasn't been able to get multi teams bidding since May.
My guess is OTT, BUF, NJ, FLA, or CAR are the teams with the highest chance to land him. The return won't be what Jets fans are hoping for though

Curious to hear why you think Carolina would be a good fit and what you think a trade between the two might be. Arguably, the Canes defenceman cupboard is pretty full right now. We are a little biased toward LHD, but I am not sure the situation is so dire that management is looking to trade for a guy that is asking for a big contract when we have a bunch of guys still on their ELC.

Jets fans have to at least see that Trouba asked for this 4 months ago. It's not like this is new news to the organization.

Keep the offers as low as you'd like, but remember you have to beat the previous best offer or it's a waste of time.

I imagine any team trading for Trouba will have very clear discussions revolving around his price and intent to sign. I truly believe that will impact his value.

let him sit all year as a **** you to him and his agent, then dump him. What sort of underachieving 22 gets to make any sort of demands?

I actually think that this is pretty good :handclap:
All teams get their needs.
Anaheim gets JVR and his sweet contract.
Leafs get their potential RHD they want.
WPG gets top 4 LHD and an ok prospect in Kapanen who I think would fit will with their system.
Money works for everyone...not bad my friend :)

We have Rakell and Lindholm to sign. How does this work for Anaheim money wise? We are adding money on top of trading Fowler. Almost a million dollars. Makes no sense. Please evaluate a trade on both sides before saying "it works" money wise Smh.

How does letting him sit help Winnipeg? This isn't a hold out situation. Isn't it in Winnipeg's best interest to move him and get some players back?

TO ANA: JVR

TO TOR: Trouba

TO WIN: Fowler + Kapanen

Anaheim gets their top line, left shooting LW

Toronto get a RHD to grow with Matthews and Co.

Winnipeg get a young LHD that can play top pairing as well as Kapanen who could end up playing opposite Laine.
The idea of a 3-way trade involving Anaheim, Winnipeg and a 3rd team has been thrown around for a long time.

I think there are some teams that would be really interested in beating Toronto's offer of JVR in such a deal though. Wings for example could offer Tatar+.

It's a request, not a demand. And any decent GM would try his best to honor such a request since you 1- don't want a player on your team that doesn't want to be there, and 2- don't want to send the message to players around the league that such requests will not be heard.

I could see the Canes being interested to fill out the right side. Would have to be a futures deal though, something like Haydn Fleury + Canes 1st or top prospects (no Aho).

I think PHI are perfect partners for the Jets. They got the prospects (especially on D) to facilitate a trade. And PHI needs a RHD. Trouba is perfect for them. They also have Provorov to dangle to the Jets

Wow.

I've been a huge fan of Trouba for a while. I would hope Chiarelli gets on the phone to try and swing a deal to get him on the Oilers.

The price hasn't changed. He still belongs to Winnipeg for 4 more years. This raises the probability of a trade but does not alter the price. It might take years to get the right offer.

I have to laugh at Jets have that try to compare Trouba's situation to Drouin, Drouin had a contract big difference, I also have to laugh at those saying that Chevy should force him to sit out till he gets fair value in trade. You do realize the longer Trouba sits out the lower "fair value" gets in trade

Just hoping Jets fans don't add Anaheim in the mix asking for Fowler swap. We got our own problems on RFAs as it is.

Explain to me how you mean to acquire a 22 year old top pairing RHD then.

I agree, but some Leaf posters just want to deal (wealth) for the sake of dealing.

Do I want Trouba? Sure. Will I pay what Chevy wants? doubtful.
I'd rather keep the offensive wealth we have.

Lou will eventually provide.

I think so. But I'll push my luck here

Bishop
Sustr
2nd round pick

Trouba
Connor
1st round pick

I really don't think I'm being unfair here

Pretty sure you're smoking something funny here. First of all we don't need a goalie, our shelves are full. Secondly, Connor should have won the Baker last year and by all accounts is 'Eichelesk' so no on that one. Jets don't trade away draft picks we get them. Next.....

If we lose Triuba the return has to be a LHD
