Pretty sad that anybody would take Pasha's side here, he is a shit-talking dweeb who publicly disparages athletes and would never in a million years say the same things face to face. Unlike Biz and Whit who know how to walk the line, this guy outright disrespects people.

Then again, I guess he personifies the average HF poster, so I'm not surprised that some of these losers (go ahead call me a hypocrite) are using it to take shots at Trouba. OP's title is disgraceful, I would actually be embarrassed if I typed that out.
a lot of terminally online people have a warped perspective

He has a long history of dangerous headshots (and headshot attempts), This doesn't happen to 99% of the other dmen in the league. If he doesn't have the processing ability to avoid this pattern, I guess it means he can't change his behavior, since it's so out of his control. In which case, he shouldn't be allowed to play in this league, as he could very easily end someone's career.
Now THAT, I can get behind.

I honestly think he can't regulate without really altering his approach to the game, so his options are 1) completely neuter his physical game, which is about all he has left, or 2) get suspended/banned.

If he's trying to injure people, where are the injuries?
What do you mean where are the injuries? He had Crosby, Jarvis, Athanasiou, Kharia, Dorofeyev... pretty sure all from the last 3 years and there's certainly others. There more from his time in Winnipeg like he knocked Stone hard one time.

And not all hits cause injury. If you bag on people being Devila Dan's and fans of Stevens back then but not fans of those hits know, it'll because we learned what cte does.

There’s nothing I hate more than people who defend their garbage tendencies by claiming “mental health”. It’s an insult to people who actually are struggling every single day.
Been hesitating to respond to this but now I think I know how to phrase it: in principle I absolutely agree with this 100%, but I think it's dangerous to preemptively assume that that's what's going on here, and I worry that your post potentially implies such.

lol @ Rags fans bringing up Stevens when they had "Mr. Leadership" himself on their roster for a decade in total. His dirtiest days may have been behind him then, but let's not pretend he wasn't a piece of shit.

Fact is, 30 years ago, every team iced multiple players who would have had 20+ game suspensions today if they played the exact same way they did then.

We don't even have to go back that far. Fifteen years ago, we had Richards on Booth and Cooke on Savard that would be massive suspensions today.

Eliminating headshots makes the game better. Palat, Necas, Rodrigues, Crosby.. how many headshots and flying elbows is Trouba going to get away with? I'm kind of surprised teams aren't trying to return the favor on him. He's a reckless idiot.

Lot of fans of a franchise that employed Scott Stevens suddenly worried about headshots.

90% of Trouba's so-called "head shots" are legal hits that casuals who never played can't tell apart from headhunting. You don't know what you're looking at, sorry.
lmfao

How many of those guys were CONCUSSED by a hit from Trouba?

And you know how players can 100% avoid CTE? Don't play sports professional sports that involve giant men hitting each other.

You asked for injuries and got injuries, stop moving goal posts.

I said injuries and then referenced CTE, since the whole point of this thread is dragging Trouba for supposedly being a hypocrite. Everyone links Trouba to CTE because casuals can't tell the difference between borderline good hits and headhunting, but nobody can point to concussions he's caused. Surely this headhunter has a long list of head injuries he has caused to other people, not counting Evan Rodrigues' back.

lol moved them again. Surely this headhunter worried about athlete suicide should keep his elbows tucked if we all know how dangerous it is. You're trying to drag this down into the mud... and yet "failing to intentionally injure someone" was a key part of that whole "Horrifying Act of Violence" defense, so what are we doing here? We going by result or action?

There are a lot of keyboard warriors in this thread that wouldn't have the balls to say what they've said in this thread to his face.

It's completely unfair the amount of stuff that people are throwing on him.
You think people here would be scared to call him a POS? Lmao. He is a POS on the ice who tries to injure players. People gotta stop acting because they are millionaires they are some Bill Gated Bruce Lee. He's been atrocious on the ice , it comes with the city deal with it. If i remember he wanted to go play in NY so his gf could go to the medicine school in NY.

I gave you a short list of the numerous hits like this. What are you on about? All of those guys except Athanasiou I think missed at least a game with a concussion
Kharia was stretched out and missed months. Jarvis I think was their final game, but there's quotes from him saying he only remembered fragments of that game and the next day a few weeks later.

A few of those are 21-22 where I recall people tallying like 5-6 that season & playoffs alone. This playoff he seemed to miss on clearly attempted headshots. You seem to not want to call it a headshot if it's a legal "good hit" as you say. He time after time sees guys in positions he can get away with the hit on, he goes for it. There's no rational way you can say with a benefit of the doubt he isn't going for their heads.

Cte doesn't come from just concussions, but hits over time to the head. So I don't know what you're trying to single out. Trouba knows what he is doing on thr ice. He might be a great guy off the ice, but his repeated actions earn him ill will.

I have a really hard time feeling sympathy here.

He must have known that as a public figure making millions to be one, he'd be exposed to criticism. If he can't handle it, take the millions, retire, reinvest in education to find a new career that won't be so damaging to his mental health. Or just ignore the media.

On the other end, CTE drives people to suicide so I can't get behind weaponizing mental health and men's suicide to counter back against criticism from the guy that is constantly trying to clip guys in the head with his elbow.
