I usually side with the players here but if it's true he said no to Canada, then he can go play in the KHL. Let him sit.

I haven't read 5 threads of this so excuse me if this has been mentioned, but how would the expansion draft influence events with Trouba? Too far in the future?, gives him a bit of leveage?, no effect?

If I'm Trouba I'd just sign a long term deal with the Jets, then show up and not try. Would make for great revenge against them. They'll have to trade him for peanuts.

That's not what he/she/whatever stated. If you are going to take a shot at a city, at least give the impression you are somewhat educated.
Anyways, why are we even talking about this anymore? This isn't about one particular city; it's about an entire country.
He clearly wants out of Canada altogether.

I've taken my fair share of shots (light hearted) at Jets fans, but these posts are getting old. My business takes me all over Canada...Winnipeg is a nice city. People are talking about Detroit being a landing spot....anybody been to Detroit lately? There are some areas that look like they've had a nuclear holocaust.
Without getting a candid interview with Trouba, we'll probably never know what he real reasons for wanting to play in the States really are.
Maybe he hates living in Canada for the silliest of reasons. Maybe he wants to play closer to home because he has a family member he wants to be close to that can't travel.
I doubt we'll ever know the real reasons until he's retired and out of the league.
