i love how people only taken a snippet of a persons comment to try and pick it apart.
I believe I also said that unless he gets traded to the Bruins. If Trouba sits or gets traded makes no difference to me. Also, my initial comment ( which you failed to include) was a comment to a Jets fan on how they value Trouba errr Bobby Orr.

Jets fans would love that contract for him. Unfortunately, Chevy would have to get a second phone line that comes up as "Not the Winnipeg Jets" on call display.

Maybe Trouba would take that deal if he could play his natural RD position, But pretty much seeing that's not going to be the case. Pretty sure that his days in the Peg are over.

Don't think Trouba should be paid more than Reilly. Think most I'd be offering is 6 x 4.8 or 4.9 million.
Anyways tho... Jets fans and I'm one... we aren't comparing trouba to one of the best d men ever or even one of the best In the league... you ask a jet fan what they want for Trouba and they will say fair value.
But what happens in these fantasy world threads where reality doesn't seem to exist.... people throw put these lowball offers that 1. Are ridiculous 2. Don't even come close to actually taking the Jets considerations in to things
And then when Jets fans rightfully turn down the basically bag of crap for a potential top 2 22 year old RHD... people get pissy almost like they can't believe jets fans don't want the pile of hot garbage they are offering

It's a pretty tough time but I think we're handling it well.
The meat and potatoes of the whole thing is pretty rough but then we have people showing up trying to antagonize Jets fans.
It's super weird. We had this one guy who kept talking about how little he cared yet he kept showing up. That's like complaining about how much you hate Walmart....while hanging out in Walmart.
P.S. I really don't like Walmart.

And he returned a 5th overall pick who had just come off a 0.5 PPG 20 year old season and an 8th overall pick who had just had a reasonably successful rookie season.
Peca was 27 and pretty well established. Sitting a year didn't really seem to hurt his value too much.
Trouba is no Peca, but he's younger while still being established, and the Jets aren't exactly asking for Dal Colle and Nylander (5th and 8th 2 years ago) or Lindholm and Risto (5th and 8th 3 years ago).
