wrong. skjei is the best rangers defensive prospect. He skates like the wind and is huge.. He was excellent when called up in the playoffs against the penguins. most compared to brett hedican.. He will be an excellent # 3 d-man in the nHL for a very long time. McD and staal are signed on the left already kind of blocks him. Graves is also in the wings on the left.

Zucc +skjei for trouba should get it done

I know who Skjei is, a prospect still...not a blue chipper but OK.

Zucc and Skjei might do it

Maatta (6yrs x 4mill) for Trouba, but a possible 1 to 1.5 mill cap difference is big. Trouba would lower Letangs workload on the right side

good value but i doubt pens would offer maata and then have 2 High money players on RD.. maata is on a pretty sweet deal

I would move Nurse for Trouba and add a good piece while doing it.

The deal asking to happen is Nurse and this years first for Trouba.

They get a young Left hand D of similar ceiling but needing more development time, and get a 1st which could be high as the sweetener. Given the low finishes they ahve had there is a nice option to get a very high pick, but it will likely fall 10-20.

No thx, Chevy stated picks are of no interest.....nurse is of no interest.

1) If Trouba doesn't want to play in Winnipeg, he's probably not gonna like Edmonton either.

2) Oilers can't afford to add much salary, if any, so money would have to go back.

3) To the jets fans saying - salary retention on RNH, your dreaming. Wouldn't do that deal straight up.

4) To the jets fans saying Trouba >> Klefbom. Klefbom at $4mill >> Trouba at $6-7mill. And its kinda hard to be better than anyone while sitting on your couch holding out.

Keep the player that wants to be paid like a superstar, doesn't like your city and whines about the position your coach likes to play him at. Like it or not, those things all depreciate his value regardless of how good he actually is. Trade with the ducks for Lindholm, though I doubt they would do that.

Facts have no place here! :handclap: Jets fans are going to have to temper their expectations a bit. The Oilers aren't desperate to move any of their players unlike the jets.

Zero interest in Trouba at the cost of Klefbom or Rnh.
And the poster suggesting Rnh with retention takes it from no interest to Hell no.

Right? Its like people think the Jets are somehow dealing from a position of power or the Oilers are desperate or something like that. Just boggles the mind.

Yah its not like Trouba is an all star of something. He had one good year and has regressed since. He still has upside potential of course but acting like he is a sure thing at this point is just folly.

Serious question, do Jets fans actually think they will receive a high end #1 LHD for Trouba?

I can't see it happening, personally, you might get someone close to that but not legit #1 D.
I feel like if a team was willing to give up that LHD the Jets are looking for , they would have done it by now

If it doesn't happen Trouba has the choice to re-sign with the Jets and play his RFA years out or ride the buses in Europe for 5 years until he becomes a UFA. He is not going to be trade for scraps like some people want

If Little is out long term... perhaps a center gets it done. Were some rumours out there in the summer about the Avs and Duchene. Perhaps the Jets revisit that. Who knows tho. But maybe Duchene isn't available with Roy being gone. All I know is I remember hearing Colorado and Duchene in the summer

Last time I checked Edmonton wasn't in the USA so unless something changes there... Vancouver Calgary Edmonton Toronto Ottawa Montreal aren't really legit options. Oh and Jets will get more than people think for Trouba because 22 year old Top 2 RHD don't exactly grow on trees. Regressed? Why. Cuz he had less points? Thing is tho... playing good D like Trouba does is pretty important for a D man.

He's regressed like RNH has.... as in he hasn't. He just doesn't put up points mainly because he didn't get much PP time. Trouba is very good and if/when the Jets trade him... the return will be better than anyone on here thinks.

I am curious what Jets fans think the difference is between Trouba and Fowler. I ask because Ive seen multiple posts regarding Fowler not returning worthwhile assets yet a Trouba without a contract can yield more?

Personally Id take Fowler over Trouba. But then Id take Tanev over both.

Fowler is not good. Tanev is good, Trouba is good. I don't see a comparison here. Fowler is a decent bottom paring d-man who can score on PP the other two are very top-4 d-men with Trouba having the potential to be a #1

Um...what?

Fowler is at minimum a #3. IMO he is a #2 right now.

A bottom pairing dman? Yikes your evaluation of him is way off.

Fowler issue has been beaten to death in many Ducks threads some of which are still on the front page of the trade board. There's no point rehashing it other than to say that Fowler does not belong in the same conversion as Trouba or Tanev

You mean one of the top defensemen on one of the top teams doesn't deserve to be mentioned in the same breath as the almighty Trouba?
