Personally, I have no issue with what Trouba is doing. If he doesn't want to make millions playing in the NHL, that's within his rights.

The Kirk
He was traded before that clause became effective.
You can't have that kind of trade protection when you are RFA.

Bogo apparently actively wanted out so the Jets did him a favor by including him in the Kane deal. I'm too lazy to source that though so take if for what it's worth or a mod can feel free to delete.

Since when is RNH a LHD that Cheveldayoff is seeking, My Sister and her Children live near the Trouba's in Rochester Hill's, Michigan and he wants no part of Winnipeg and definitely doesn't want to play that far west but close to home near Detroit. So i doubt that it happens.

Hf boards . You ask for a LHD and you get 10,000 offers for a RW . Ask for a RW and get 10,000 offers for a Goalie . I am sure you get it ,what ever you need the will not included

Nooo, at best something around Nurse for Trouba. Makes a lot of sense for both teams.

Maybe but the cap does not work for the Oilers and I would bet the Jets would want a more develop LHD then Nurse currently is . Only deal that would work would be Nurse + Fayne or Pouliot for a resign Trouba

Fire up the fax machines

NYR: Trouba
WPG: Fowler, Skjei, Stoner
ANA: Miller + prospect from NYR

Why would the Jets do that?

2nd pairing Dman two years away from UFA bolt. B level ok prospect and a cap dump? No thx

Nurse? No thx, wouldn't do that trade, yikes.

RNH? Maybe, if no LHD was available around the NHL for Trouba, but not ideal trade but not horrible either. RNH at 25% retained in more attractive, bit overpaid now IMO.

How does a questionable Nurse make a lot of sense for a proven Trouba? No thx, hard pass on nurse.

It's Klefbom or nothing. Not RNH. Definitely not Nurse.

Whats the ++ for Klefbom and + for RNH? The Oilers have no interest in overpaying for cancers.

LOL at retaining on RNH for an unsigned Trouba$$. Things are a little backward in this thread.

Why would Winnipeg take Stoner?

I'd rather hang onto Trouba, that's for sure. But if we have to trade Trouba anyway, I think I'd do that trade. A lot depends on whether Skjie is a decent prospect, but we need defensive depth especially in the left side & this gives us that.

Right now, I see Fowler fitting into either our first or second LHD spot (certainly he has more upside than Enstrom but maybe Enstrom is better at present). Stoner is no doubt better than our present third pairing LHD (Stuart or Chiarot). And Skjei gives us much needed depth at that position either in the AHL or NHL.

There may be better deals to be had, and a lot depends on how you view Fowler and Skjei, but it fills our needs now and in the future.

We need defense. Left handed ones. As awesome as RNH is, we don't need forwards.

RNH would be a really solid add to the Jets. Sheif and RNH 1-2, that's pretty impressive.
The thing is, will someone offer you the LHD equivalent to how good RNH is? Who are Jets fans betting on getting in return at LHD? You can probably address the LHD elsewhere. Someone like Alzner is a UFA next year or trade for someone else who is decent if not spectacular. Like a Despres.
I'd take that deal (RNH) for a player (unconfirmed) who doesn't want to play in Winnipeg.

Not really sure what you're getting at here??

my point was that a lot of posters it seems are angry at him("make him sit", "teach him a lesson", or calculating money lost, etc etc), a player who has asked to be traded, despite the fact many of those same guys were hoping to land hamonic(despite also asking for a trade to a specific marketplace, ie pulling the same thing) nor lambasting Chevy for trading away a player who had just signed longterm(seemingly because he wanted to stay???)

i mean you cant have it every which way in my humble opinion

He's cheaper because he's worse.

Klefbom - .40ppg last year on a team that had trouble scoring.
Trouba - .25ppg last year on a average team scoring.

Klefbom - .33ppg the season prior.
Trouba- .34ppg the season prior.

It would appear to me one players stats are trending in one direction while developing with his team. While anothers plateaud in his rookie season and has issues off ice some might think of as character issues. The choice seems obvious to me.

1) If Trouba doesn't want to play in Winnipeg, he's probably not gonna like Edmonton either.

2) Oilers can't afford to add much salary, if any, so money would have to go back.

3) To the jets fans saying - salary retention on RNH, your dreaming. Wouldn't do that deal straight up.

4) To the jets fans saying Trouba >> Klefbom. Klefbom at $4mill >> Trouba at $6-7mill. And its kinda hard to be better than anyone while sitting on your couch holding out.

Keep the player that wants to be paid like a superstar, doesn't like your city and whines about the position your coach likes to play him at. Like it or not, those things all depreciate his value regardless of how good he actually is. Trade with the ducks for Lindholm, though I doubt they would do that.

How many games did Klefbom play last season again?

Oilers fans really love to hype a guy that played really good for 25 games

I'm just curious.
Who are the acceptable LHD (assuming that's the prime piece) Jets fans are looking for?

wrong. skjei is the best rangers defensive prospect. He skates like the wind and is huge.. He was excellent when called up in the playoffs against the penguins. most compared to brett hedican.. He will be an excellent # 3 d-man in the nHL for a very long time. McD and staal are signed on the left already kind of blocks him. Graves is also in the wings on the left.

Zucc +skjei for trouba should get it done
