Trouba with his 0 goals, 0 assists in the series but one "MASSIVE" hit:
Only 2 less points than breadmanTrouba with his 0 goals, 0 assists in the series but one "MASSIVE" hit:
Bunting wasn't even looking to hit anyone. Cernak turned into him and he simply reacted. If Cernak doesn't turn into Bunting there is no hit. Trouba was looking to lay a hit, saw a Devils player and laid him out.Cernak never had the puck my dude. Trouba didn't jump into the hit.
Oh super clean. Just like everything he does. Everyone just happens to put themself in a position to get checked directly in the head at full speed.
Trouba just skates and it just happens.
Fair enough, but if Meier didn’t see the Ranger (even if he didn’t know it was Trouba) directly in front of him and it didn’t cross his mind that he might/should/has to get hit there he’s not a smart player. Complete lack of awareness and thinking void.I think the point is that the Devils are generally aware of when Trouba is on the ice because they know the risk of a hit like that. Trouba wasn’t on the ice at the start of Meier’s shift—and only came on when Meier wasn’t looking.
And what's Trouba supposed to do? Gently tap Meier on the shoulder and say "Hey buddy just an FYI I'm on the ice now"Fair enough, but if Meier didn’t see the Ranger (even if he didn’t know it was Trouba) directly in front of him and it didn’t cross his mind that he might/should/has to get hit there he’s not a smart player. Again Cernak doesn't get hit if he doesn't go into Bunting's path and a 6'4 guy doesn't get clipped in the head by a 6'0 guy unless the taller guy is leaning down. If you watch the hit from the rear view camera angles its clear that Cernak went into Bunting and not vise versa. Also Trouba went full force into Meier while Bunting barely clipped Cernak.I'm not going to argue intent. It's very difficult to prove. Trouba's hit was greasy but legal. Bunting's was a clear five+.
Lol alright bud. Have a good night.Again Cernak doesn't get hit if he doesn't go into Bunting's path and a 6'4 guy doesn't get clipped in the head by a 6'0 guy unless the taller guy is leaning down. Surprised he didn't see that mack truck heading straight at him. OoofIt’s a hard solid clean hit. Head lowered and watching the puck. Keep that head up….
