No it doesn't. It didn't hurt Drew Doughty one bit and if the Jets were to trade trouba, there'd be 29 teams lined up with their best offers to land him.

How would you know it didnt diminish Doughty value? He wasn't traded.

I swear some people just want to argue for the sake of arguing

Yes. If the Jets call to inquire on Hanifin...if the Canes don't laugh and hang up immediately, they're asking for Laine.

If the Jets say "nope"...then the Canes hang-up.

See, the part that I found hilarious is that you think the Canes would pass on Laine if the Jets were to make that ludicrous offer.

Can't have a convo with you if you're going to be that much of a homer.

He's saying if Laine wasn't the offer coming back, Carolina would not take it seriously. An RFA Trouba is not worth Hanifin at all. This Trouba stuff is ridiculous. As a Habs fan, if Beaulieu started asking for ridiculous money like Trouba is now, I wouldn't start asking for ridiculous returns from other teams. I used Beaulieu as an example because the two players aren't as far apart as people think. Trouba and his agent need to come down to reality and no teams are going to take on that risk until they know what he finally signs for.

Beaulieu has more potential, im good with him.

Please Understand
Well considering at least one Jets fan is demanding Ryan McDonagh + for Trouba, I'd say the Canes gets off easy here. I expected it to also involve Carolina's first rounders for the next century.

I love the strawmen and hyperbole that other fans use when they fail to understand how valuable a piece is to the team.

Trouba + Ehlers for Hanifin + Skinner would make a lot more sense.

Why on earth would you give away a younger better dman who is all but assured to be top pairing for an older unsigned top 4 Dman.

Is the + MS or Blake Wheeler?

In all seriousness though, how often are players teams are struggling to sign ever trade up in a deal. When players like this are moved it is almost always for a package of lesser parts. Not saying the value won't be there but it just isnt a scenario that happens. If the Jets trade Trouba they wont be getting back a better Dman

No he does not.

Maybe he doesn't. But he isn't making everyone laugh at asking for $6-7 million when he isn't worth it. Trouba realistically should be on a bridge contract until he proves he can be what is projected. If that bites Winnipeg later... Maybe but atleast they know what their getting themselves into. Trouba wants the Edmontons Oiler $6 million a year treatment when realistically he won't get that.

Please provide a source for the claim that Trouba is asking for 6m+

If the Jets are serious about acquiring Hanifin, I'm thinking Laine would be the name the Canes ask for. Even then, not sure the Canes would pull the trigger.

Hanifin doesn't land you Laine, not even close. And if Laine indeed got offered and the Canes turned it down, the GM would be looking for a trip to Bahamas in order to escape the following turmoil.

It's funny how everyone seems to know what Trouba wants or doesn't want, when in reality, no one knows anything. It's just speculation and rumours.

What he actually said that if the Jets offered Laine, the Canes might not even accept that.

This is what I found hilarious and decided to cut bait talking to a bunch of homers.
