Proposal: Trouba all encompassing trade thread

It's pretty tough to back up inside information with a source unless you want to out your source. Which isn't a smart idea if you want to keep getting information.

In 99% on this board there is no source or inside information. Can anyone point to a case where someone on hf board had inside information that the msm/twitter didn't have?

Because you were making a big deal about it, Thinking that that package was the best offer Cheveldayoff would receive and yet Montreal has very little use for Trouba.

There have been many times on the Jets board that posters have provided information on things that no major source has even had a sniff of. And those things turned out to be 100% right. Sure there are some posters you can't trust and we really don't care if you do believe us but there are certain posters on the Jets board who have gained a reputation for having good information. So I choose to believe them. If you don't... well that's nice for you...

I don't get the impression that he necessarily needs to be the #1RD on the team he goes to but he definitely wants to see play on the right side, top 4, with plenty of PP time. I wouldn't rule out teams that already have a #1RD.

Just don't see Cheveldayoff dealing Trouba to Edmonton, Doubt that Cheveldayoff will want to face Trouba 4 to 5 times a year. Still think that Trouba will get dealt to an Eastern Conference team.

A poster on HFB Jets who has connections has been saying for months that Trouba wanted out and we should expect a trade rather than a signing. Meanwhile, all the media reported that both sides were interested in a long term deal, until yesterday.

Nurse is only slightly, and I mean slightly better than how Stuart played last season offensively and Nurse is a tire fire defensively.

I seriously doubt that Trouba would get dealt to Boston without Krug going the other way. Krug is a solid offensive D-man that Winnipeg could use. Without Krug going to Winnipeg i doubt there's any deal here.

That looks like a fair trade, but a little too much.. But I might try Adam McQuaid, Jakub Zboril and a 2nd rd pick.

Absolutely not. His comparable is 4m, slightly more the long term contract.

6million is top15 D contract in the league. Burns gets 5.7, Pietroangelo 6.3, Duncan Keith 5.5.

6mil is not greedy, it is just insane. Out of this world crazy.

6 years, $30 million would be more than fair, and Babcock would probably pair him with Rielly, so Toronto is a good fit, depending upon what Chevy wants in exchange.

Sorry that's just a strange way of evaluating player worth, for the reasons I just mentioned. It might make more sense to look at what other players of the same age and calibre are getting under the current contract rules.

Garret is usually our main inside guy. But that will likely change because of his job. We do have others though.

It's not an overpayment from the jets per say. It's more of a why would either team do it situation.
