Proposal: Trouba all encompassing trade thread

It's a fair enough argument. And yes, Slavin looked awesome when I saw him last year, but Winnipeg doesn't have to take less. As an Oiler fan, I personally wouldn't part with Nurse (for different reasons, obviously), but that doesn't mean Winnipeg wouldn't force your hand.

In what way can the Jets "force" the Canes hand? The Canes don't have to make a trade, they can walk away and be fine on D. There's zero reason to trade the player that will be their #1LHD for a player that will be their #2RHD. Especially considering Slavin is expansion draft exempt, and has 2 more ELC years. The contract situation is much better for Slavin.

Ummm.... do you look at the return players want a trade gets? Trouba is basically Phaneuf 2.0, no one is giving up a great asset for him.

I wouldn't overpay for him.

Good for JR, he can do whatever he wants. But since Ron Francis has actually been running the team for two years now, he can say "thanks, but we don't want Trouba badly enough to give up our #1LHD on his entry level deal with expansion draft exemption and more years of cost control, so good luck dealing him somewhere else." Because like I said, the Canes don't need Trouba by any stretch, the D is solid without him.

Yup, a bunch of low ball offers, fans who don't know any of the facts around the situation or team needs, fans who know zero about Trouba progression each year and only look at his points suddenly experts, scraps, dumps and crappie offers.

Did you expect anything more from HFB?

When Trouba is traded he will get a very good return and many will be surprised at the return.

Yes that line would be crazy and our defence would be brutal with Nurse on it. Jets don't need forwards we need quality defence.

From the oilers this is what I would offer.

Nurse and small plus. Don't Forget that nurse is expansion draft exempt so this would let the jets either protect 5 D or do the 7-3 split. That value has to be taken into account.

Reinhart/Davidson + Pouliot/Yak + 1st. Here you get a lesser LHD a top 9 winger and a decent first round pick (it's the oilers it would probably be top 5)

The other option is something around Sekera but he has a no move clause but I think he would fit nicely as the jets 2LD.

I don't think the oilers would trade JP, Klefbom, RNH at this point in time.

I'd much much rather trade Tyler Myers. As far as his "major surgery" that some hf doctors blab about there's this:

He was skating after 10 weeks. Acl surgery can be 4-6 months in comparison.
