I think if they want a same age and calibur LHD this will require a 3 way deal.

Not that it cant be done straightup but not many suitors for that. If you add a middle team, you could have the middle team sending futures for a top 4 RHD in Trouba while Winnipeg gets the top 4 LHD from the other team.

Just an example DO NOT use this as a value:

Winnipeg gets Fowler
-middle team- gets Trouba
Anaheim gets futures/forward

Reading through this thread, the only two realistic purposals I've seen so far (taking into account the cap and needs) are

Gardiner+ for Trouba
Del Zotto + Sanheim for Trouba+Petan

Wonder which teams are looking to shuffle their defense around? I'm sure there are a couple teams.
Those teams looking to add defensemen can be crossed off the potential trading partner list as only similar young defensemen are acceptable returns, which defeats the purpose of acquiring Trouba in the first place.
It might take a couple weeks + to sort this out.

Not sure how I feel about Fowler but I'd take Leddy for sure.

Leddy is a fantastic defenseman. I see him a lot being a Devils fan and he's sick. Skates like the wind, puts up points and is more than adequate defensively. Idk about his availability but that's the type of defensman you should be going after not a guy like Gardiner who's name I keep seeing mentioned, which would be a mistake.

Or Trouba + sheafle ( spelling ) for MacDonaugh and a 2nd

I hope you don't mean Scheifele, our young recently signed #1 center who put up career points last season (61).

Wouldn't even consider Scheifele alone for that package, lol.

The overdone offer of Gardiner for Trouba if you want an NHL ready LHD.

Not sure what else could be offered or what WPG would want.

Its not being mentioned for some reason but after a LHD for Trouba our next greatest need is for a RHD. Everyone seems to be stuck on the idea that we are deep at RHD but that evaporates with Trouba gone. The RHD can be a prospect who is a little further away but not a long shot project. He has to be a good prospect.

Gardiner is not all that far short of value for Trouba. Not quite there but a good prospect could make up the difference. I don't see that prospect with the Leafs though. I see Dermott on the left side. I would take him. We could look elsewhere for another RHD or draft him ourselves in '17.

Something around Orlov + for Trouba?

With the + being a first or a prospect(Bowey, Siegenthaler or someone else)?

Orlov and Bowey would have me standing in front of Chevy's house with a sign that reads "Please Say Yes!!"

There is not a single asset in the league who I would trade Scheifele for. He is absolutely irreplaceable in different ways, one of which being loyalty and determination to improve with the team.

100% WPG definitely has to add to Trouba in order to acquire Hamonic. Better defender, used in bigger and tougher minutes, more proven, and on a way more team-friendly contract.

Uhhh, no. And someone posted that Trouba is being overrated here. Hamonic is on a very friendly contract and Trouba wants to be paid. But Trouba is the better player today and he hasn't peaked yet. Being 4 years younger he has 4 more years ahead of him. That's big.

One stellar season doesnt make the kid a #1 center. He is good though.

Lindgren might be an under the radar prospect from the Leafs side. Loov is NHL ready for bottom pairing duties (and did well in a brief stint last year). Desrocher is an option but he's a long shot.

Dermott/Nielsen/Valiev slant the trade too much into WPG's favor.

It's a very fine line when trying to think a suitable plus. Plus it seemed like based on the insider's chat, Jets were looking for an NHL ready LHD and said Jets didn't want futures like picks or prospects so that may be why people haven't really attached prospects in their deals.

Question for Jets fans: in every projected d-pairing I've seen in these threads, I never see Chiarot listed. What happened to him? I thought he would be a suitable fit for the 3rd pair, to ease Morrissey into the lineup.

As far as Chevy's ask, I can really only think of one LHD on a long-term deal that is similar in age to Trouba, and might conceivably be available: Jonas Brodin. I understand Minny probably wouldn't need/afford Trouba, and the Jets probably don't want him to go to a divisional rival, so I think there would need to be a third team involved.

Bingo. MINN does not need Trouba, but they would like a forward with equivalent value. Either Scandella or Brodin would be a perfect mate for Buff, as they are both very good defensively, and would cover for him when he goes crazy. Trying to think of a forward that fits the bill beside the oft mentioned RNH. I'm guessing that Trouba would prefer NOT to go to EDM...maybe ARI?
