Draft position means nothing. McIlrath was drafted a year before Trouba, Skjei was a 2012 draftee, just like Trouba. Watch the difference.

Skjei hasn't proven anything. Trusting him 22 minutes a night would result in a disaster. McIlrath... yeah, he's not worth it.

McDonagh might open up a hole for you, but you don't have anything else that works for us. Skjei doesn't represent the top 4 LHD that is reportedly asked, no matter how you slice it.

Offer 2 is about right.

Offer 3 doesn't fill a Jet need and would force us to make another trade to get a top 4. But good value

You would be lucky to get just Gardiner, forget the other 2.

If you turned down Marner and a 2nd because it doesn't fill a need you are out to lunch.

Pesce would be an excellent 3rd pairing RD on any team at this point with room to grow into a solid all-situation top-4 D. He is big, mobile, and expansion exempt. Fleury is a projected top-4 LD with similar Draft pedigree to Trouba.

Not even close. Trouba’s 22 year old a top pairing D man, you won’t get that for Gardiner and spare parts. If Gardiner is the LHD coming back Toronto needs to add big, but from the sounds of it he’s really only interested in playing in the US so Toronto would be unlikely to even make an offer.

This thread keeps getting funnier and funnier. Since when did Trouba almighty reach top pairing status? It sure as hell wasn't last year.

Gardiner for Trouba is fair value, prolly favours the Peg slightly. Any adds to Gardiner are just a friendly gesture and have nothing to do with actual value.

Rumor has it not only in the States but in the Eastern corner of the States doesn't want to play out west but as close to home near Detroit as possible so maybe Columbus Pittsburgh if they can shed some cap maybe Philly or Boston.

Even with this trade, And once again Winnipeg doesn't need Killorn how would Tampa give Trouba around the $5.5 million to $6 million per deal that he's seeking and still be able to sign Kucherov this year and others next year doubt they could.

Trouba would need to sign for no more than $4m for that to work.

Sign Trouba 1 yr x 3. Streit is gone then and you can sign Trouba long term. Shouldn't be a problem since Philly gives Trouba what he wants. He would be #1 on the right side, no question, on a bigger stage, closer to home, in the US.

Giving up both Trouba and Petan for MDZ and Sanheim is a clear overpay but tolerable to make this go away. Petan showed ready at the end of last season and is looking scary good in TC so far. Chevy would still need to get some strong RHD prospect(s) as we are pretty weak after Postma. But MDZ can step in immediately in the left hand spot vacated by Trouba and Sanheim is probably only 1 year away.
