He re-posted the Ducks Insta post about Gibby being 2nd all time in wins.

Obviously these are just a few little things but I like his personality. He needs to beef up tho

Stealing books from the library, loving Motley Crue and telling everyone he belongs in NASA, he's the most Long Island guy ever (Bedford - close enough).

any idea how hes on fire as of late? change of line mates? just clicking?
Dallas switched lines IIRC. Terry has been on a longer cold streak and was put with McT, but Zegras is playing better as well. Just ups and downs of the season I guess

Pissed he didn’t make the ASG? Lol.

No, he has been separated from Terry, since then he has 13 points in 9 games now. It’s making the opponents D have to split assignments now. He has more space out there.

What are realistic expectations for Zegras point totals moving forward in his career? If Anaheim were to get Bedard, could you see Zegras slotting wing, or is he a centre through and through.

He’s generally played better, and seemed more comfortable at the wing position in the nhl. Not exactly sure what’ll happen…. I’m guessing we’ll try a couple things and see what works best.

As for point total, I think he’ll def push over PPG(I’ll say peaking around 90) with a better roster/ powerplay…. He’s been doing what he’s done the last couple seasons with minimal talent around him and a questionable coach/system.

I think considering he's been putting up 60-70 points on absolute trash teams thus far in his career that on a Ducks team that's ready to contend and with someone like Bedard/Fantilli/Carlsson/Michkov playing with him he could push 100 points especially with scoring going up, I should say I don't think he's going to be putting up 100 points on a consistent basis or anything just a career peak, on average probably a lot of seasons in the 80-90 range in his prime

If our PP was better and more consistent he’d be around a PPG now. As he gets stronger and more experience will also be a bigger factor at ES and could see his production increase there also.

The fact he is pacing between 60-70 points on this poor team is a really good sign.

Z's play at 1C was piss poor and got demoted to 2LW. His offense blossomed when facing weaker competition. Eventually, he was moved to 2C and a PF was moved up to play 2LW. Z hasn't looked back since.

Line progression

Rico-Z-Terry

I disagree. I think he plays better at center and is more effective there.

Just remembering this:

Such a great video. I can see him pushing 100 points a couple of times, but more than likely settling in as a dynamic PPG player for a majority of his career. IMO, he needs smart players on his line, ideally a goal scorer and a player that does the dirty work to retrieve pucks and open up space for him to be most successful.

I feel like he's somewhere between Val Kamenski or Alexei Kovalev and Pavel Datsyuk career-wise. That's kind of the spectrum of Russian-inspired dynamic players with Kovalev/Kamenski at one end and Datsyuk at the other, in terms of defensive reliability.

I don't think Datsyuk is the most likely outcome, at all, but I do still think it's a possibility.

I really like the Kovalev comparison, especially from a style and peak (stats-wise) perspective

Offensively I’d agree with Datsyuk as a peak, but defensively I do not ever see that comparison panning out. Kovalev seems about right.
