He is not good defensively and that part of his game is not going to come this year he only got about 50 games of experience and either plays against the other teams top line and/or their best defensive players

As I was saying if we we're eligible to sign him today I'd give him 8x8 after this contract in a heartbeat. It's not possible but that's how valuable I think he is.

If only we had one more highly-competent goal scorer. Zegras could have /should have had five assists easily in the first two periods today alone.
It obviously isn't a strength yet, but I will give him the benefit of the doubt that both his wingers are also equally "bad" on the defensive end.
He also was a bad shooter in his draft year and then we have seen what that has turned into, so I have faith it it just something that will come with some work, just like faceoffs.

Anyone know how Perrault has been playing in SD? Leading the Gulls in goals and points and might double up the next closest guy on the team (Lettieri) in shots while he's up here, but seems like he's been really streaky or just unlucky lately?
Wouldn't mind giving him a little trial run for a few games/sheltered shifts with Z.

Crazy part with Zegras, he has been snake-bitten and still putting up points. If he scores some of those goals from those great chances, he'd be at or over a PPG.

Great interview by Cally, and thought he did a great job on color for this game. Dude is retired and still awesome.
I've seen flashes of a handful of players at different times when watching Z but Datsyuk is kind of where I'm settling now. They just think out of the box on the ice and do stuff that you've rarely ever seen before. Z was really pretty solid defensively tonight and that play was straight out of Datsyuk's book. Datsyuk scored 30 or more a few times and 20+ several times, so Z will have to improve a bit there but i have no doubt that he'll get there.
I think Datsyuk did something similar to this, against the Ducks of all teams actually.
