Not a bad deal for a 2 year term, if he repeats his last season performance it will be good value, if he doesn't repeat this year then it's a tradeable contract at TDL or next years offseason.

4.25 if I remove Zboril outright and run 7 D.

A bit under 4 million if they replace Zboril with a LD making 775k.
Exactly, it isn’t as dire as it seems.

Not to mention there is still plenty of time for another shoe to drop among the forward group between now and camp.

It's not. This is doable and shouldn't be particularly challenging for management to figure out. That Frederic contract is reasonable and doesn't tie their hands cap wise.

Now that its a done deal.

I just want to see Frederic develop some consistency to what type of player he's going to be.

1-5 games he looks like he belongs and is making smart plays, chipping in offensively.
1-5 games he looks like he's completely lost or sleepwalking.
1-5 games he plays a bit more of an agitating/physical role.

rinse and repeat.

The 2.5’ers called it/were closest Poll wise

A few people came in and said 2.2 last minute so they should probably be gambling or playing poker, something, today

Yea but what about the other 79-67 games?

Funny coming from a guy who said he should get under 2...

I was figuring 2.75 on a one year deal.
Funny how you call out another poster's preference for contract dollars (which he didn't even say he was not worth more, just that he'd like it to be around a smaller number) and want to hold him accountable, but will you hold yourself accountable if Freddie regresses this year? I highly doubt you will. But that's okay. Plenty here will recall either way.

Yeah hold me accountable if they regress this year from last season - that'd be on me

Like I said the other day, if I'm wrong about they guy, I'll happily eat a dish of crow because it ultimately helps the team. And I'm sure I have a slew of people willing to feed that crow to me on both Freddy and Coyle next year. Should at least make things interesting to watch...

Very fair deal. Really hope Frederic is able to play with more fire in his belly on a consistent basis this coming season. The tools are there. Not so sure the hunger and focus are at the level to match the tools. Maybe this season he puts it all together.

Trent Frederic and the Bruins avoided arbitration Tuesday when the sides agreed to a two-year deal worth $2.3 million annually, according to Sportsnet’s Elliotte Friedman.
The player and the club had been scheduled to enter arbitration Tuesday after Frederic asked for a one-year pact at $2.9 million and the team countered with a two-year contract worth $1.4 million per season.
Frederic, 25, played the last two seasons for a $1.05 million salary.
Frederic is coming off a season in which he set career highs in games (79), goals (17), and points (31). He was held off the scoresheet in all five games he played in the first-round loss to the Panthers.

It's crazy how much $$ a few points can get you.

Jesper Boqvist 70gp 10g 12a = $775k
Jack McBain 82gp 12g 14a = $1.6m
Trent Frederic 79gp 17g 14a = $2.3m

I know these are different players with different strengths, but I just find it so interesting how a few tap-ins can completely change the financial outlook for their lives. Makes all the hard work worth it.
