As has been said, he's one of a long list of guys that are candidates to be crapped on.

But he's very clearly shying away from going for pucks and making physical contact. I'm not sure how I can accept that from a guy who has shown himself to be more than capable in these areas. He really is just a designated sniper now? That's supposed to be his identity?

Gross.

He simply is not the agitator some of you would like. He is a bottom six c/w who does not always process the play well-to say the least. (I do not believe for a minute they are getting lots of offers for him.)
He came into the league trying to make a name for himself by playing that way, he did, then got comfortable.

He's been fine overall (the last two seasons), but he still leaves so much to be desired. At one stage he was mixing it up with the Tom Wilsons of the world, now he picks his spots and is the definition of the "fake tough" label that people like to toss around on opposing teams players.

Yes, I can see why some think of him as a "fake tough guy" and spot picker, but feeling with him is he is not an agitator.

I think if it's anyone remotely tough that leveled Poitras the other night, Frederic isn't so eager to drop his gloves and start swinging the way he did. Anyone else he's probably doing his collar grab tough guy bullshit waiting for a ref to jump in there.

"em?" That's plural. So what's the list of "em?"
Sorry shouldn't have put Em. I think if the return is what is needed then trade him but I can't see him getting a great return. Also how much is his asking price. At the moment he's not worth much. Would love to keep him if he can produce like last year which may be wishful thinking. Honestly Geekie should go before Freddy imo. But front office will wait another 5-10 games and then maybe bring Lysell up when he's healthy and then give him 5+ games. At that point they are a quarter of the way through the season. If they haven't steered the shop by then start selling off players and bring up some kids.

But if I had a list it would be:
Geekie
Carlo
Frederic
Coyle

He's the only guy on the roster ever to do it for the team, but somehow we assume he wouldn't. This place sometimes...

If he were on another team we'd be begging to trade for him

He picks his spots, which is fine to a degree. It’s hilarious how many people in here use the “fake tough” when describing players on certain teams, but I feel Frederic falls in that same category. He went after a non fighter after a hit, again, don’t hate it, but if that’s Reaves you best bet he’s not doing that.

He fought another non fighter after Bergeron was hit 2 years ago, he clocked him, again, glad he did.

He jumps in when he knows he will overwhelm someone. I get that, I don’t even hate it. What I do hate is when the games get their most intense, Frederic goes missing. He was awfully quiet against the Leafs when they made a few questionable hits.

He’s doing absolutely nothing this year. He’s been awful. If he was producing, I wouldn’t dog him as much as I do.
