Trouba's media day photoshoot

A lot of things can factor into these decisions. Hell, Gallant may have talked with Laf, Chytil and Kakko and they all preferred to stay together for the time. I'm pretty sure they know they played well in the playoffs.

AV didn't get this much shit after his Stanley Cup and ECF runs. I wonder why people don't like Gallant so much.
Don't wonder.

Some fans hate every coach because they can't believe their team doesn't have the greatest players.

I think it's just the tension of winning vs getting the kids enough responsibility so they can grow and develop. It hasn't helped that a bunch of prospects have asked out in the last few years (and really none of that has anything to do with Gallant) but there's just an impression that's been going on since we signed Trouba, Kreider and Panarin that the team gives too much to the vets and not enough to the kids. That impression may have some validity, but not to the extent it's argued. I think Gallant seems to be pretty upfront with his players. And they seem to like him -- even the kids.
Exactly, well said. The AV teams weren’t in the same position.

How is he upfront? He has no consistency.

Laf, one of the team's top 5v5 scorers earned the opportunity to start in the top 6 and on PP1. Gets denied.

Blais was injured all season, is 26 and has less career goals than Laf scored last year. He gets thrown on line 1.

Kakko, learned and turned himself into one of the league's best defensive wingers. Opening on line 2 and gets he denied.

Kravtsov ditched the team and left the country because he didn't want to earn a spot and play in Hartford for a short amount of time. He's rewarded with top 6 placement instantly.

Where is the accountability, merit, consistency?

I mentioned this in the other thread, the team ran out of gas in the playoffs, why aren't they focusing on conditioning right now instead of scrimmages?
