I get the info late too but then I am a bit of an insomniac so it sort of works out, a little. ;)

I thought it had already been reported that S A B O U R I N (in deference to the abbreviatedly challenged. jk) is being offered a pro contract by us. Likely to start in MCH. He plays hard nosed but there is actually a bit of skill there too and I have heard that the team would like to see it developed. I think he should start in the Ont and then work his way up to MCH and then the team but we have the greatest minds in the game today figuring these things out so however it works will be right.

Max is among those going down after this weekend or so it has been said. Kozun might get a longer look. I had to do my first day of actual work today so I am a bit behind the current stuff but that is what I have for now.

I also have that DB (Brownie) ls right on track and doing a ton better. There are times when healing from a nagging injury where while you have been doing better you still sort of feel it and then all of the sudden you just feel "better". That is where Brown was said to be late yesterday. He will be ready is what I think.

JB "I am loving my time in TO so far. It just feels very good knowing I am the starter and that I will be given each chance to succeed and establish myself as one". "I will be fine and feel better today".

Sabourin could just be one of those late bloomer type guys. Wasn't even drafted, was he? A lot of teams will overlook players like that. He definitely has the size- if he keeps improving he will be a welcome addition to the team.

So do most of you guys think Garon makes the team over Scrivens? I hope not - Garon makes me nervous and I think Scrivens is a more than capable backup even with limited time in the NHL so far.

As usual, radio only.

Los Angeles lines should look something like this:

Dwight King – Nick Shore – Justin Williams
Kyle Clifford – Colin Fraser – Jordan Nolan
Tanner Pearson – Linden Vey – Tyler Toffoli
Andy Andreoff – Marc-Andre Cliché – Brandon Kozun

Willie Mitchell (!) – Slava Voynov
Jake Muzzin – Keaton Ellerby
Jeff Schultz – Alec Martinez

Ben Scrivens
Martin Jones

I just don't get Sutter's love for Dwight King. I don't dislike king. I just want him to be more of a physical presence and play with little more passion.

Seems like the Kings are giving all of those guys competing for the #6-7-8 spots on defense an opportunity. Curious to see which one of Martinez, Muzzin, Ellerby and Schultz stand out and emerge as the leading candidate to appear in the lineup and to be a healthy scratch for a good chunk of the season and who will end up on waivers.

It'll be interesting to see if Williams/King have any chemistry together.... ... ...

On a serious note: damn need to grab a beer..

Might be a long night

Woot!!! tied at 1 less then a min in

Wouldn't really read too much into where King is on that lineup as he seems to be just thrown on there. The 2nd line is likely the 4th line on opening night and the 3rd could possibly be the top line in Manchester. 4th line seems to be another possible line in manch. King, Williams and Shore just seem to be left overs that needed to get a game in.

Oh and talk about competition The bottom two d-pairings seem to be the four guys competing for the last few d spot. Very interesting.

I'm telling you now - Nick Shore will play one season in Manch and then Stoll is gone. Kid is a ****ing gamer and the perfect 3rd line center for us. And yes I think he makes the NHL before Vey.

You don't think Vey is close to ready now and won't be next year? I agree, it comes down to one of them to replace Stoll.

It's not that. It's just that I think Shore is much more fit for that 3rd line role. I really love both Vey and Shore but Vey should be in a more offensive role. He might run in to the Loktionov problem and not see an ideal role on this team. Vey really has 2nd line upside and I think he's likely to hit that upside - but can he supplant Richards? Doubt it.

Once again you and I see eye to eye on a prospect. So do the Kings. Shore is Stoll's replacement as far as everything I have heard. Where that leaves Vey I couldn't tell you but Shore is the better two way player of the two. I love LV and think he could become a second/third line C pretty quickly but Shore will be in the mix without a doubt. Guy can play and is smart too. I think he starts in MCH this season but give him a season and he could be right up and ready.
