For those who don't want to read it, here's the breakdown:
- Spence, Kaliyev sent down to AHL to be cap compliant
- Kings will wait until tomorrow to put Rittich on waivers. They feel Rittich is less likely to be claimed by teams already with a set roster
- Kings will send Rittich down to the AHL Wednesday when he clears. Kaliyev will come up to continue his suspension for the first two games of the season
- When Kaliyev's suspension ends, he'll be re-entered in the lineup. Laferriere will go back down instead of being a healthy scratch.
- While not stated explicitly, it sounds like Spence will come back up after Laferriere is sent down.
So games 1 + 2 will be:
Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Dubois - Laferriere
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Grundstrom - Lizotte - Lewis
Kaliyev
Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Roy
Englund - Bjornfot
Talbot
Copley
Then games 3 on will be:
Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe
Fiala - Dubois - Kaliyev
Moore - Danault - Arvidsson
Grundstrom - Lizotte - Lewis
Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Roy
Englund - Spence
Bjornfot
Talbot
Copley
Maybe they shouldn't be spending assets to "go for it" two years in a row then.
Madness, indeed.
