How has Björnfot looked so far in preseason?

Is he going to make the roster ahead of Englund and Moverare or is there a chance he gets waived?

Oh my.. someone got offended.
I didn't know you have an account here, Anze

But while you are here, let me explain something to you.

The NHL is a professional sports league where the target is to win the Stanley Cup every year.
We are all grateful what you have done for the organization to the point where you brought home 2 cups.
The issue people have here is what happened right after where you asked for a salary of a NHL top center but delivered shit while blocking salary to upgrade the team.
If by chance Drew is sitting beside you on that park bench, feeding ducks, tell him that he is far worse, not only copying the above issues but also cry to the management to give unreasonable contracts to your also useless buddies.
We fans would like not to have another season where playoff teams mop the floor with you.

Since we already figured out that the management is reckless and irresponsible, please do the right thing and become a full time duck feeder at the pond.
This takes the option away from the management to build a team around you with even older and worse players than you.

Appreciate you understanding and cooperation in that matter
Okay now this is a post worth getting offended about lol.

I don't understand how you can claim Kopitar has 'delivered shit' but hey man, go off.

We're all entitled to our opinions I guess.

I was saying 2 yrs ago we should have traded dooty(brown's nickname for drew) and received big value. The guy has been just going through the motions for at least that long. With everything but his mouth

So with Kaliyev having a hearing for his knee on knee, what impact could a potential suspension have on the cap for opening night?
Suspended players still count against the cap. So if he's suspended, the Kings either roll with 11 F, 7 D or they send a defenseman down and call up a forward.

Edit: but nothing is said about it being in-person, so likely a fine.

You know what the Sharks got for Karlsson after 25g/100pts?

Is karlsson a comparable? I know he has an albatross of a contract. Was carlsson traded 2yrs ago?

His going through the motions phase is a lot better, so not a total comparable.

You think an aging Doughty who doesn't care with more years left on a contract will bring back more than what Karlsson did after 100pts with less term?

Is Clarke a lock for season opener? No idea how he's shown, just need to do some digging before my fantasy draft tomorrow...

I don't think there's any way Spence or Clarke could be overall as effective of a defenseman as Matt Roy this season.

Arvidsson would make more sense to move IMO.
He's another option.

Even though it would save more $$$, I would say his potential replacements aren't as good as Roy's potential replacements, though.

Not a lock, more like 50/50. He's waiver exempt, so there is that. Watch his next game if you can, if he lights it up he'll probably stick around.

Should know very soon.

He's expected to play in the season, but it's not a sure thing he's on the opening roster. It's 50/50 between him and Spence.

Whoever doesn't stay up will be on top pairing in Ontario. As both are waiver exempt, we'll probably see a lot of movement throughout the year.

Look at all that rope the kids are getting!

Benched already and didn't even get all the way thru camp

Looking forward to Turcotte and Laf and Toby getting sent down as well

Has he looked ok thus far? Won't be able to watch any of him before my draft.

At this point then who would you be leaning toward winning the spot solely on how they both have shown pre-season?

Doughty might not be the player he used to be (he used to be the best defenseman in the world so kinda hard to live up to that standard through your 30s lol) but making assumptions that he "doesn't care" and "has just been going through the motions" is just absurd.

Are we forgetting that he had 31 points through 39 games before injury two seasons ago? He also just last year had the 3rd best offensive season in his career with a very respectable 52 points in 81 games.

He's legitimately still a good player and if you can't see that you're lost.

Again, is he worth $11 million? No. Is he the best defenseman in the world anymore? No. But that doesn't mean that he's just phoning it in collecting a paycheck.

It's fine if you wish the Kings had traded him and yes, his cap hit isn't amazing but the guy still competes and plays with a ton of passion.

What do you guys think of this trade idea to help us out in several areas. Saw on the main board that Van is looking for a winger and a D to play with Hughes.

To Van:
Roy, Kaliyev, Copley

To LA:
Demko

Obviously a risk with Demko with health issues. If truly healthy he could be great with us. Also it frees up a spot in the line up next PLD and Fiala for Turc or Laff. Also it helps place Spence and Clark on the team. Would suck to play against them within the division but I think this would make us better. Rather have Talbot as backup as well. Capfriendly has them pretty close in amounts.

No thank you to a goalie with hip concerns. Wayyyy too much risk.

He shouldn't get waived, he'll be the extra at worst.

Does Blake then waive Anderson-Dolan (the defacto 13F) or Englund instead to keep Björnfot? Or send Clarke and Spence down again due to waiver exemption?

Anderson - Doughty
Gavrikov - Roy
Englund - Clarke*
Björnfot - Spence*
Moverare

Either way those are tough decisions given that theres effectively a 21-man roster limit due to the cap.

Too much doom and gloom gang!
I'm getting excited for the season, I wanna see what happens...then I will complain but would like a to see the product on the ice first
I doubt anyone thinks this is a bad team. When firing on all cylinders they can be downright great as long as goaltending is average.
Its the playoffs that are worrying. Will they wilt when physicality ramps up and sit back to let the Oilers/Knights have their way with them? Or do they step up and take control and play big. Thats what I see people complaining about. Whether the team is built as a contender or a get in and hope for the best type.

I am excited. This should be the most fun season we've had in 3-4 years, and will likely be the most fun season we have for the next 4-5 because of it.

Because they are just pissing away assets and kids to appease the current elders and it pisses me off.

Both things can be true.

Might as well be Cup or bust this year and start purging the unworthy under 25.
